Structure and measuring principle
The odour measurement by means of the OMD 1.10 is based on the evaluation of the sensor signals. For this sensors with a low selectivity and a high sensitivity are required. In the OMD 1.10 several metal oxide sensors are used. The sample air is sucked in at the measuring gas entries via dust filters, conditioned and then led into the measuring chambers in an alternating way. In the measuring chambers there is each time a sensor array adjusted to the respective case of application. The compensated sensor signal shows a functional correlation to the olfactory determined odour concentration according to experiences. The calibration of the device is done by olfactory reference measurements after VDI 3881.

Tasks
Due to the increasing sensitiveness of the people odour nuisances from industry, agriculture and waste recycling are tolerated less and less. By means of the odour measuring device OMD 98 the possibility is given to record odour concentrations under industrial conditions continuously. Between the output signals of the sensors and the odour concentrations a functional correlation can be determined by olfactory calibration. As result a continuous statement of the odour concentration as well as a statement of the kind of odour is possible.
The OMD 98 consists of single modules constructed as 19'-rack and allows on this way the adjustment to different applications. The basic module consists of 2 sensor chambers, the control unit and an automatic pre-dilution. As output a serial interface as well as 2 standardized and freely programmable analogue outputs are available. In addition digital inputs and outputs are offered. The recording of measuring signals can be done on PC with a special software (including automatic pattern identification.

Application and function
For the operation of a facility with streaming gases (e.g. hall exhaust air, exhaust gases etc.) the continuous registration of the exhaust gas velocity respectively the flow as well as the temperature are often of substantial importance. In case of continuous emission measurements the mass of pollutants has to be disclosed additionally (mass flow [kg/h]).
The flow measuring device FMD 99 is a measuring device for the continuous registration of gas velocity and temperature of gas flows in pipelines. Moreover it is possible to display respectively provide the flow in operational or norm state. The use of the dynamic pressure and Pt100-measuring principle guarantees a device simply to install and handle as well as a timely monitoring of the measuring parameters.
The dynamic pressure probe FMD 99 can be cleaned with the probe cleaning system PCS 03 in case of high dust contents.

Fields of application
The O2MD 04 can be applied for the measurement of the oxygen concentration in smoke, process and cover gases as well as for the mixture and production of special inert gases. Then the concentration of the free oxygen is measured.

Application and function
The oxygen measuring device O2MD 04 consists of an in-situ-probe with evaluation electronics and measuring value display in the probe head. The measuring gas flows through the measuring chamber of the probe rod. The core piece of the oxygen measuring device O2MD 04 is a potentiometric ZrO2-sensor. The probe is equipped with a regulated sensor heating and a high-quality electronic which provides the sensor signal (= oxygen concentration) as standard signal.

Fields of application
The dust concentration measuring device PFM 97 is used for the continuous measurement of dust contents, especially for the emission measurement according to TI Air, 13th and 27th BImSchV as well as for the dust concentration measurement in process monitoring. Parallel to the dust measurement flow and temperature of the smoke gas are registered.

Function principle
The special probe of the PFM 97 consists of 2 tribo probes and a dynamic pressure probe: The tribo probes register redundantly the raw signal of the dust concentration. In order to correct the velocity influence at the triboelectric measurement the gas velocity is measured by means of a dynamic pressure probe. The synchronous determination of the gas temperature allows the calculation of the dust concentration in norm state.In case of high dust contents the dynamic pressure probe of the PFM 97 can be cleaned with the PCS 03.
