Vacuum Boosters

M-D Pneumatics™ Vacuum Boosters provide low-cost, high-capacity gas volumes at high vacuums (50 Torr to micron range) and may be used in conjunction with all types of vacuum pumps. All units are dynamically balanced and leak tested. Our boosters are used in supercharging Vacuum Systems, Vacuum Drying, Dehydration and Packaging.

Vaccum Air Blowers
Vaccum Air Blowers

PneuMax™ and PneuPak™ are dependable and economical low pressure (up to 15 PSIG [1.03 bar g] or 16” Hg [540 mbar g] vacuum) air sources for many industrial and municipal applications such as pneumatic conveying of bulk powder, seed or other granular material, fluidization/agitation of bulk powders, wastewater aeration, and motive force for vacuum exhausting, dairy milking and central vacuum systems.

PneuMax boasts a small package footprint with integral noise control enclosure for guaranteed* open field noise performance of 85 dB(A) at 1 m., as well as built-in instrumentation, check and pressure relief valves.

PneuPak provides a conventional, vertical flow design with an integral silencer/base combination, and is compact in terms of floor space. Noise guarantee is limited to test results collected at Tuthill Vacuum & Blower Systems facility, Springfield, Missouri USA, on a single PneuMax unit operating at maximum rated blower speed, and maximum rated blower pressure, with average of measurements taken at 1m distance, 1.5m above floor not to exceed 85 dB(A). Due to the many uncontrollable variables associated with individual installations, installed noise levels cannot be guaranteed.

Pneumatics Blowers & Vacuum Boosters

We manufacture rotary positive displacement blowers, blower packages or mechanical vacuum boosters, Tuthill Vacuum & Blower Systems (TVBS). Since 1937, TVBS has been designing and manufacturing proven M-D Pneumatics products that are solidly engineered, competitively priced and produced under stringent ISO 9001 quality standards.

Our experience has helped us to establish a worldwide customer base and made us one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of rotary lobe blowers and vacuum boosters. Our commitment to delivering the right solution at the right time continues to guide how we do business now and in the years to come.

For new blower applications or replacements, TVBS offers one of the broadest lines of positive displacement blower models and vacuum boosters in the industry. Each blower and booster is tested before shipping and carries a factory warranty. Applications include pneumatic conveying, chemical processing, gas moving, vacuum boosters or exhausting, food processing, waste treatment aeration, elevated pressures, complete package systems, and more.

Typical M-D Pneumatics Features
• Five bearings, including one outboard on the shaft for durability
• Helical timing gears are quieter, stronger and easier to time; mounted on drive end to reduce
torsional load on rotors
• Oil sumps on both ends for better lubrication and reliability
• Extra heavy castings for durability and heat absorption, high pressure
• Every unit production tested before shipment

KLRC Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps
KLRC Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps

KLRC liquid ring vacuum pumps are ideally suited for pumping wet mixtures and even slugs of liquid. They are available in standard, all iron construction (no yellow metals) and 316 stainless steel. Liquid ring pumps often require water-cooling, but air-cooling systems are available. Complete engineered system solutions, including instrumentation, controls, piping and valves; self-contained liquid recovery and recirculation are also available.

KLRC liquid ring vacuum pumps can pull down as low as 4 Torr (5.3 mbar a). However, low-pressure performance is limited by the vapor pressure of the sealing liquid, which can be water, oil or process liquids. The various applications include: Chemical and Pharmaceutical Processing, Vapor Recovery, Deaeration, Extruders, Crystallizers and Central Vacuum Systems>

A & T Series Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps

AF single-stage “A” series and two-stage “T” series vacuum pumps are simplistic in design, rugged in construction and built to run in the most severe of industrial conditions. With no metal-to-metal contact, it is not unusual for these pumps to run in 24/7 operation for years without maintenance.

These “abuser-friendly” pumps are vibration-free and environmentally friendly, with no oil used for lubrication, and no oil discharged to atmosphere. Complete, self-contained systems, including liquid recovery and recirculation, are also available.

“A” series single-stage pumps pull down to 29" Hg (25 Torr [33 mbar a]); “T” series two-stage pumps pull down as low as 4 Torr (5.3 mbar a). However, low-pressure performance is limited by the vapor pressure of the sealing liquid, which can be water, oil or process liquids.

Dry Screw Vacuum Pumps
Dry Screw Vacuum Pumps

The SDV dry screw vacuum pump operates without oil or water in the pumping chamber,
and with its straight-through design, the SDV can handle both condensable vapors
and some solids without leaving residue. There is no metal-to-metal contact inside
the pumping chamber, so wear is greatly reduced. The Kinney SDV dry screw pump
is water-cooled, but self-contained air-cooled coolant recirculation systems are available.

Typical Applications:
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Processing
Solvent Recovery
Forming
Crystallization
Dry Etching
Sputtering

Vapor Recovery

SDV pumps are variable-pitch, to increase efficiency, and lower temperatures. SDV pumps are also capable of full pumping speed from atmospheric pressure to 1 Torr (1.3 mbar a); however, the SDV can achieve ultimate vacuum as low as 0.01 Torr (0.013 mbar a).

Rotary Vacuum Pumps

KSVB/KSV rotary vacuum pumps are ideally suited for clean or moderately contaminated applications when suction filters are fitted to the pump. KSVB/KSV pumps incorporate direct
driven motors and integral oil mist eliminators. Gas ballast valves are standard for vapor handling.

Typical Applications:
Vacuum Packaging
Meat Packing
Vacuum Chucking & Holding
Central Vacuum Systems
Medical/Dental Vacuum
Electronic Assembly
Plastic Thermoforming
Food Processing
