Trace Heating system For Long Pipelines
CALGEN® traces are multi-stranded nichrome wires that are insulated with PTFE. This provides these high temperature rating & weatherproofing. These are braided with glass yarn for efficient heat transfer & H type varnish coating. This system is ideal for fuel pipelines that carry Furnace, LSHS, Post FCC oils and other viscous oils in the process pipelines, storage tanks.
CALGEN® electrical heat tracing process is defined as the process of applying heat to external surface of a pipe or tank to maintain precise temperature of the contents.

| Radiant Quartz Heaters |  | Our wide range of heating equipment includes radiant quartz heaters medium wave that is designed for applications requiring infrared radiant heating. These radiant quartz heaters consist of a helically wound resistance coil housed in a pure vitreous silica fused quartz tube. The coil provides a longer life to a product at a rated voltage. The quartz tubing of the heater is equipped with a specially designed ceramic insulating cap. The cap is securely fastened to the quartz tube with high temperature cement, offering excellent support to the power connecting termination. This cap allows the quartz tubing to breathe. Radiant quartz heaters are one of the most efficient sources of radiant energy. These deliver near and far infrared wavelengths, which are more effective than a single wavelength, capable of generating full heat output capacity in 40-50 seconds and cool down in less than 15 seconds. In addition to this, the radiant heaters provide longer life whether operated continuously or intermittently. It is advisable to rate the quartz rating applications around 35 40 watts per SQ inch for efficient heating and longer operating life.
Since the Quartz heating elements have very low emission in the visible spectrum these do not give off an objectionable glare. Apart from this, the optimum design of the element provides a clear red color on the translucent quartz tube when operating at full voltage. This generates an infrared wavelength at energy peak of 2.5 to 3 microns, which gets completely absorbed during the process benefiting the industrial applications.
The radiant quartz heaters have additional features that make them superior to other heaters. These are as follows:
High Efficiency: Infrared heaters generate radiant energy that directly heats the product as opposed to a convention oven, which depends on air circulation as the heat transfer medium. This subsequently results in more efficient energy usage and lower operating cost. By eliminating the air medium, radiant heating also reduces the losses that occur in hot air ovens.
Shorter oven lengths: Infrared heaters produce greater heating, which enables the products to get heated faster than in a convection oven. Due to shorter product heating cycles using radiant heat, less oven length is required to do the job. This results in a 30-50% reduction in the oven length as compared to convection oven designs.

| Quartz Immersion Heater |  | The silica and quartz immersion heaters that we manufacture are widely used in diverse industries, which require heating of corrosive liquids such as electro- plating solutions and scale removing baths. These silica and quartz immersion heaters are economical, clean, efficient and are considered to be an extremely safe mode of heating. The silica and quartz heaters are completely unaffected by most acids up to highest temperatures, barring hydrofluoric and phosphoric. These are known to have the following features: - Silica / quartz industrial heaters are safe in operation. This is because the outer silica and inner porcelain have excellent electrical insulation characteristics.
- These sheaths obviate the need for the periodic replacements from corrosion. Due to their chemical inertness, any contamination to the solution to be heated is eliminated.
- The moulded rubber cap and electrical cable are thoroughly bonded together because of which no damage can be caused through bending of the cable. Here the PVC caps come for assistance in heating material like rubber.
- These heaters are extremely easy to maintain as they can be serviced by normal technicians. The two-piece moulded cap helps in simplifying the service. The heater can be quickly demounted and replacements can be made in minutes. This becomes of vital importance when the heaters are used for continuous processing and when spares are held by the in-house maintenance department.
- These heaters are compact units and occupy very little space in the tank. These have a smooth exterior, which minimizes surface deposition and facilitates cleaning.
- Installation is simple and inexpensive.
- Installation Instructions
Handling & installing quartz heaters require utmost attention. This is because the sheath is made of brittle material & is particularly susceptible to mechanical shocks. The installation instruction are as follows: - The liquid level in the tank should not be less then 4¿ from the bottom edge of the rubber cap. When the temperature of the liquid is above 50°C, we would recommend a minimum distance of about 6” between the edge of the cap and liquid surface. The caps must not be submerged in liquids
- The liquid level must not be allowed to fall below the minimum immersion depth ( cold zone )
- None of the heaters should be supported by the cap or cable alone
- Heaters sheaths should not be allowed to become coated with deposits from the bath as it lowers heat efficiency , or even breakage, may result.

| Drum Heaters |  | We design and manufacture CALGEN drum heaters in a variety of sizes and ratings depending upon the specific requirements of the customers. These drum heaters are very helpful in heating stored viscous fluid to a pourable temperature. The speed flow of solid and semi solid viscous material can be controlled with CALGEN drum heaters. The outer body of these heaters is made of mild steel (split joined with hinges) and bottom 3 castors for easy movement and transport. The drum heaters are made very sturdy and tough. These are long lasting and resistant to few chemicals.
The panel board of the calgen drum heater is fabricated from mild steel sheet with powder coating and assembled with contactor, digital temperature controller, MCB, on/off switch, neon indicators, and other electrical hardware to suit the 6 kw rating drum heater. However, it is advisable to check the total wattage (no. of heaters) and material being heated inside the drum. This helps in determining the actual temperature to which that specific material can be heated. Our drum heaters are very easy to install and remove.
