Himadri Chemicals & Industries Ltd., the flagship Company, was
founded to develop, manufacture and market chemical products, with a special emphasis on coal tar and its derivatives. The Company has diversified into corrosion protection and manufacturing coal tar based pipe coating products.
Himadri Industries Ltd., with a capacity of 60,000 MT is one of the largest cold storages for preserving potatoes in India. Sri Agro Himghar Ltd., has a capacity for preserving 25,000 MT of potatoes.
Himadri Credit & Finance Ltd., with interests in financial activities has its shares listed in all the major stock exchanges of India. |
Quality Policy / ProcessesAn ISO 9000:2002 certified company by DNV, at Himadri quality is engineered into the product. Our quality control measures ensure that raw materials, in process materials and the finished products are subjected to exhaustive testing according to national and international standards.
Warehouse / Production Capacity
Himadri has long term tie-ups with all major Indian steel plants and international suppliers for the supply of coal tar. The Company has a raw material storage capacity of around 40,000MT. This, combined with tie-ups with various suppliers enables Himadri to supply material on time and maintain its commitments to its customers.
Using raw materials of a different mix enables Himadri to customize its material as per customer requirements and deliver products of consistent quality.
Himadri has four state-of-the-art coal tar distillation plants in India with a combined coal tar distillation capacity of 4,38,000 MTPA. This makes Himadri the largest quality grade pitch manufacturer in India. The Company has two plants in Howrah, West Bengal, one in Hooghly, West Bengal and one in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The distillation plants are dedicated to the distillation of high temperature coal tar and produces pitch specially for the aluminium and graphite industries along with oil and other coal tar by products. Himadri also manufactures coal tar based pipe coating materials including primer, outerwraps and tapes at its Visakhapatnam plant. The basic raw material for coal tar based coating products comes from Himadri’s own distillation plant. This gives the Company the advantage of producing customised products of different specifications according to customer requirement and also assuring the customer a product of consistently high quality.
Himadri plants produce coal tar pitch and enamel utilizing the latest technology available. This includes an efficient vacuum system and a special heating configuration for controlled heating, supported by strict process and quality control measures which result in the production of products of superior quality and international standard.
