Hydrocephalus is one of the most dreaded diseases and the surgical correction of this condition is by implantation of a shunt. HL-SUBCUTEX tissue expander is an important medical device used in plastic surgery for the reconstruction of tissue defects and deficiencies by the development of tissue flaps.

HL-SUBCUTEX is fabricated from high quality biocompatible silicone rubber. The device is placed subcutaneously and inflated periodically with saline solution until the tissue is developed sufficiently. There is a self-sealing remote valve along with the product, the length of which can be varied as required with the help of a non-metallic connector. The remote valve consists of a dome made of self-sealing material through which saline is injected. One important feature of the valve is the polypropylene needle stopper, which prevents the perforation of the needle beyond the silicon, envelop. Another important feature of HL-SUBCUTEX is the differential expansion (minimum expansion on the bottom side of the expander and maximum expansion towards the top area).
