Our Company's promoter Shri Biswanath Kar, son of Late Tustu Charan Kar was born in Bargachia - Howrah district. During his initial working career, we received offer to work with Central Lock Factory, Govt. of West Bengal. But his out of the box thought process motivated him to start his own lock making business and he established his unit Howrah Lock Industries. Dynamic and innovative thinking of Shri.Biswanath Kar made Howrah Lock develop many import substitute items. He is one of the leaders amongst lock manufacturing units of West Bengal.

His noticeable contribution into West Bengal's lock making industry was well recognized and he was awarded “Bharat Jyoti Award” in the year 2001 and “Outstanding Performance Award”' from Federation of Small a Medium Industries (FOSMI).

We understand that quality of locks primarily depends on the types of of material / metal used in different part. It is needed that these materials should withstand environmental conditions and hold accurate mechanical properties. Moreover, the design & construct of the lock has to be precise to achieve the required result for a longer time. The most important thing is of making the lock theft proof, i.e., the clearance between the gate and the needle is very precise, thus our locks can be operated only with its key.
