Ahmedabad, May 11, 2009:
India’s leading Oncology drug marketing company, Intas Biopharmaceuticals Limited launched BORTEZOMIB injection, under the brand name BORVIZ, in the Indian market. Bortezomib offers effective treatment for ‘multiple myeloma’, the second-most common cancer of plasma cell (blood). As part of company’s sales strategy to provide cost-effective novel therapies & oncology drugs, the company has launched new sales division BRIDGE to strengthen its new brands of drugs and focus on specific therapeutic areas. With growing product portfolio, new sales division is launched to increase the focus on drugs that cater to Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) and Multiple Myeloma.
Announcing launch of BORVIZ and new sales division BRIDGE, Chief Executive (Marketing) of Intas Biopharmaceuticals Limited, MR. SIMON DANIEL, said, “In India and internationally, more and more research is focused on discovering new modalities of treatment that can help cancer patients live longer and better lives. Our efforts to provide cost effective treatment with easier access and extensive sales network across India has worked well for us. The company has maintained a steady sales growth in the past fiscal.
The addition of BORVIZ to our product basket reiterates our commitment of focus on introducing novel drugs in domestic market and creating a sales force dedicated to oncology therapies. As of now, new sales division BRIDGE will have two products, namely PEMMET and BORVIZ. Since both the drugs are indicated in the first line treatment of NSCLC and Multiple Myeloma, we have a dedicated sales force in place for BRIDGE division who will work in territories of other sales divisions across India. Looking at the growth, both these molecules are expected to give, BRIDGE will undergo expansion in terms of product portfolio & manpower”
