It is through action (without attachment) alone that wise men have reached perfection. In the same way, it is proper that you should take action keeping an eye on universal welfare.

Quality Policy / Processes
IMFA has the unique distinction of comprehensive multi-product & multi-location ISO 9001 certification. Its entire range of activities such as Ferro Alloys production, power generation, Chrome Ore mining and commercial activities are all certified to stringent international standards. There is a pioneer spirit here as well since the Charge Chrome furnace at Choudwar was the first such unit in India to be certified while the power plant at Choudwar and Nuasahi Chrome Mines were the second in their respective fields to be certified.
Our Quality Policy: IMFA is committed to producing quality products and, in doing so, we shall not only meet the requirements of our customers but also statutory and regulatory requirements.
Awards / Recognition
Sarala Award: The annual Sarala Award was instituted in 1980 with the aim to recognise outstanding literary work in the Oriya language. With an award of Rs 1,50,000 and a glittering array of recipients, it is today considered the premier recognition for an Oriya writer.
Ekalabya Puraskar: Although the trust had since a long time worked for the popularisation of sports in Orissa, a major step was taken in 1993 when the annual Ekalabya Puraskar was instituted. Like its literary counter part this award too is the ultimate recognition for any Oriya sportsperson and carries an award of Rs 1,00,000. The list of recipients includes popular names like Debasis Mohanty, Shiv Sundar Das and Dilip Tirkey among others.
Our Commitment
All of us shall work as a team to comply with and improve the effectiveness of our Quality Management System.
Our Quality Objectives
Build quality into our products and processes at all stages
Produce and market consistently good products at competitive prices
Promoters
Starting with a small furnace tucked away in a remote corner of Odisha, IMFA today is a major force not just in the Indian Ferro Alloys industry but, given its size and integration, in fact all over the world.
While the giant strides have been made possible by the vision and innovation of Dr Bansidhar Panda, the same spirit is coursing through IMFA with the second generation now at the helm of affairs.
Chairman Desk
"When I was working in the United States of America as a research scientist, every moment of my professional life I experienced the power of applied science transforming that nation and its people from obscurity to excellence in many instances and in every human endeavour. I dreamt a pure and panoramic view of realising such a transformation for my country in general and my impoverished State of Odisha in particular. When I got an opportunity to pursue my dream I had no hesitation in disengaging myself from my important assignments and returned with a mission to work towards and assist in building a modern, vibrant Odisha.
Promoting IMFA, whether in the most backward tribal area of India or near the cultural centre of the State, is only a small but important aspect of my vision. As a scientist, I have pursued the Gandhian principle of changing as many lives I interact with as possible although the limitations of such a principle are severe even in the land of Gandhi. But, a vision lasts forever."
Dr Bansidhar Panda Founder-Chairman, IMFA
People
The most important asset from which IMFA derives its true competitive strength is its committed and talented workforce. The Management's belief in creating a work environment where ability is the sole arbiter has paid rich dividends. The typical IMFA executive is a talented professional, highly motivated and capable of working in a team to deliver results even under the most challenging circumstances.
A 'Core Group' of select senior executives is the highest decision making body within IMFA. A larger body of executives categorised into 'Strategic Management Group' and 'Operations Management Group' are the driving force responsible for implementing and monitoring key initiatives.
