Efficiency and life of Raw Edge Cogged Belts has been so over whelmingly attractive that these belts are fast replacing other types of belts in the class of applications for which these are suitable. The design of coggs reduces the bending resistance significantly thereby enabling use of Pulleys with smaller diameter i.e. up to 20% less than used with conventional V-Belts for same type of application. In addition decreased bending resistance reduces mechanical losses during bending, leading to improved power transmission and lower working temperatures. Heat dissipation is further increased due to coggs including turbulence in surrounding air resulting in a swirling action which enhances cooling because of which pulleys and bearing run cooler. The traction properties and transverse rigidity are improved because base of the Raw Edge Belt is filled with anisotropically oriented fibre filled composite.

These belts give more life and more power transmission because of better grip, less slippage and almost two to three times the life of conventional V-belts thereby eliminating unwanted breakdowns for smooth running of plant.

Flat Transmission or Drive Belts are sometimes perceived as dated technology, yet the modern flat belt has a major part to play in Industry today. Modern Flat belting has advantages over other drive methods. Low initial cost and high efficiency are two important factors. Textile machines with hundreds of spindles on one frame being driven by a single endless flat belt are but one example. High speed woodworking machinery, lathes and grinders all need and use the performance and efficiency of flat belt drives. Large Compressors and Fans can run without the need for multiple belt drives, often with smaller pulleys and shorter centres. There is no limit to length,
many flat belt drives are 20, 30 or 40 meters and over in length. The modern flat belt also works as a shock absorber, protecting valuable equipment in the event of seizure or damage and is easily replaced at comparatively low cost.

ESCON Flat Rubber Transmission Belting is manufactured from evenly laid piles of closely woven hard cotton duck impregnated with special rubber compound. The piles of fabric are pre-stretched and vulcanized under high pressure to provide strength and flexibility. Escon Super Deluxe Hard Duck Power Transmission Belting conforms to ISI: IS 1370-1993.

Conveyors belts generally consist of cover rubber, carcass and rubber skim coat.

Covers of natural or synthetic rubber are designed to protect the carcass from abrasion, impact, deterioration and other injurious influences. They are compounded to meet particular service conditions such as abrasion, chemical, resistant and antistatic etc.

Carcass of belt maintains the belt tension and supplies structural strength, in supporting and pulling the load. Carcass consists of multiple piles of rubber impregnated fabric bonded with friction and fabrics most commonly used are nylon, polyester and cotton etc.

An extra layer compound between piles that increases flex life and creates a more elastic link so that piles flex without separation. Skim coated cushion fabric helps in protecting against moisture.
