The polyester division commenced operations in 1991 and is today one of Indonesia's largest polyester producers with an annual production capacity of 280,000 metric tons of polyester filament yarns, polyester staple fiber, polyester chips and PET bottle grade resins. The division also has the largest and most-modern texturiser in the country. The polyester division employs state-of-the-art technologies from the best global technology and equipment suppliers including DuPont (USA), Zimmer & Barmag (Germany), Toyobo, Teijin Seiki & Murata (Japan).
Indorama Synthetics is the only company in Indonesia having a completely computerised and automated polyester yarn package handling and testing system that matches standards set by DuPont at their latest plant in the USA.
In addition to standard yarns, the polyester division manufactures a wide variety of differentiated and customised products. Among them are high tenacity, differential shrinkage, micro-filament, cationic, stretch, and specially tailored products. The principal export markets for the polyester textile products are the developed nations of the world.

The fabric division started operations in 1994 with the weaving of greige fabrics. Subsequently, facilities for processing and finishing 100 per cent polyester filament fabrics were added.
The fabric processing facility employs know-how from Komatsu Seiren of Japan, one of the world's largest polyester fabric manufacturers. The Fabrics Division offers a one-stop shop for fabrics created from a new generation of polyester filament yarns, replicating the properties of cotton, wool, silk and linen. Laminated fabrics have been recently added to the wide range of products.
The weaving facility uses Japanese water jet looms and its suppliers have acknowledged that the weaving machines at Indorama Synthetics are operating at the highest efficiencies in the country. All fabrics are available in greige, dyed and printed form, in 44" and 58" finished widths.
Indorama Ventures is the 2nd largest PET resin producer in the world. Indorama Ventures has grown rapidly over the past few years with start-up of greenfield plants in Lithuania and USA, and acquisitions in USA, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
PET resins are used in quality bottling and packaging applications for mineral water, carbonated soft drinks, beverages, beer and food
Indorama Corp's acquisition in 2006 of Eleme Petrochemicals in Nigeria makes it Nigeria's largest olefins producer with an annual capacity of 350,000 tons of polyethylene and polypropylene resins. Eleme’s is also Africa’s 2nd largest polyolefin producer.
HDPE finds use in plastic bags, containers, water pipes, lamination, liners, household containers like buckets, mugs, caps etc. LLDPE is used extensively for its high tensile strength and puncture resistance in water storage tanks, chemical tanks, garbage bins, general purpose film, laminations etc. Polypropylene has numerous applications like food packaging, textiles, plastic containers, injection molding, toys, packaging etc
Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA)
In 2008, Indorama Ventures PCL acquired one of the world's largest single train plant to manufacture 700,000 tpa of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) in Thailand, the major raw material used for polyester production. Since then, Indorama Ventures acquired Eastman Chemical Company’s PTA plant in Netherlands and a majority stake in another PTA manufacturer in Thailand, TPT Petrochemicals.
There is a growth in demand for PTA, particularly in Asia, driven by increasing end usages of polyesters in apparel, packaging and industrial applications. To ensure consistent high product quality, Indorama Ventures has invested in advanced quality control systems and equipment from leading global manufacturers.
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
LLDPE is used extensively for its high tensile strength and puncture resistance in applications like stretch cling film, heavy duty films, general purpose film, laminations etc. Its outstanding properties like ESCR and ease of processing makes it a material of choice for water storage tanks, chemical tanks, garbage bins, toys, telephone booths, etc.
