With the experience acquired by UNICEF in association with UNDP, World Bank water and Sanitation Program in partnership with hand pump field workers and developmental organizations, it has designed the afridev deep well hand pump that has become a choice in number of countries across Africa and Asia.

We offer a range of afridev deep well hand pump (vlom), which is ideal for lifting water from depths of 10 meters to 45 meters and is suitable for bore holes that have casing sizes of 100 mm 115mm, 127mm, 150mm or 200mm internal diameter.

Note: If the hand pump is used for dug wells, then the suitable provision must be made for location, the rising mains and to modify the suction pipe if required.

This hand pump is known as  VLOM 65 which is suitable for village level operational maintenance,the above ground  structure is same as I M II deep well hand pump,it is used for lifting water from deep set bore holes covering static water level (SWL) that ranges from 20 meters to 40 meters. Our pump is ideal for installation on bore well/casing size that has a minimum diameter of 100 mm to 150 mm nominal bore size.

We offer a range of direct action hand pump with a vlom concept. The entire structure which is above the ground is constructed from steel and is hot dip galvanized to prevent it from rusting. It is ideally used for lifting water from bore well with static water level not exceeding 15 meters. The cylinder assembly includes cylinder pipe, piston, piston rod and food valve receiver. This provides the required pumping action and lifts water upward through rising mains; the assembly of the pump rod provides linkage between piston in cylinder and pump handle, with its high displacement capacity and light weight, these rods help in minimizing the effort required during upward stroke. The rising mains carry water from cylinder to pump. Our hand pump is complete with a special type of combination spanner that is required for installation and maintenance, further, a retrieving rod helps in extracting foot valve assembly from cylinder for village level operational maintenance.

The farmer needs to stand on the treadles and press the pistons up and down by pedaling this will lift adequate water for irrigating the land.
 
Our treadle pump promises access to water, thereby freeing farmer from vagaries of nature, expensive diesel and erratic power supplies. It is a portable system and can be moved from one location to another source of water such as bore holes, open well, ponds, canals and others.

The pump needs to be correctly attuned and maintained for efficient pumping of up to 5000 liters of water per hour without exhausting, it is operated in a natural way such as walking.
