From 1985- to 1989, the furnaces were manufactured by the same promoters under the brand name of “ELECTROMECH” by a partnership firm namely Electro-Mech Engineering Co. Subsequently in 1989, the partnership firm was converted to the Present private Limited company namely “INDUCTION POWERMELT PVT. LTD” a manufacturer & supplier of “SUPERMELT” and “SUPERMELT-LI” type of Induction Furnace.
Manufacturing Facility
The company has ultra modern facilities spread over a plot area of about 80,000 square feet having about 25,000 square feet of manufacturing and about 10,000 square feet of office facility for commercial work.
Manufacturing facility is totally self contained having all the necessary facilities for fabrication, Assembling, Electronic Assemblies, testing etc. etc., In short, each and every activity related to the manufacturing & Testing of the company’s products are In House making the company “SELF RELIANT”
This facility is located at “SANTEJ” about 12 Kms. From the heart of “AHMEDABAD” and only about 2 Kms. From the municipal limits of Ahmedabad. For all practical purpose, it can be said that the company is located in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad is the commercial capital of the state of GUJARAT, INDIA and is located in western part of India about 550 Kms form Mumbai (Bombay).
Our Scope Of Supply
POWER SUPPLY UNIT (SUPERMELT – LINE ISOLATED POWER SUPPLY)
POWER SUPPLY PANEL ELECTRICAL PANEL WITH METAL CABINET, duly painted, fitted with duly gasketed, lockable panel doors. For safety, Door Interlocks are provided to shut of the power if doors are opened. Power connections are easily made through the top and water connections are through the side of the cabinet. Provision for easy power & water connection is provided on the cabinet.
DISCONNECT AND PROTECTION System consists of :-
MCCB / Isolator Switch mounted in the cabinet to serve as isolation from the plant power line.
Fuses are provided to protect the System in case of short circuit.
Electronic Tripping is provided to protect the SCRs.
THE CONVERTER (RECTIFIER) SECTION is with filters and High power SCR’S with snubbers for rectification. Converter SCR’s are fully fired and are used in place of diodes to function as electronic switch. This considerably increases the life of M. C. C. B. and electronically shuts off the power in case of any malfunction. Provision of electronic tripping has replaced the MCCB by an Isolator Switch.
D. C capacitors and Air core Current Limiting Reactor is also provided.
THE INVERTER SECTION contains inverter plate containing high power inverter SCR’S with snubbers, anti parallel diodes and DI / DT reactors. This is designed to provide full power throughout the melt cycle.
THE CAPACITOR SECTION contains filter capacitor i.e D. C Capacitor to reduce the ripple and power line notches and deliver smooth voltage to inverter section. AC capacitors are provided in the control panel, used for commutation and power factor improvement.
GROUND / LEAK DETECTOR senses ground / metal leak. It is provided to sense and indicate any ground and metal leak. It consists of indicating lamp, milliameter & sensitivity pot.
Customer Scope Of Supply
In addition to our supply, following is required at your end to run the furnace system. Procurement & Installation of following equipment is Customer’s responsibility.
Power line upto furnace transformer of adequate current capacity.
Furnace transformer of suitable type and rating.
Power line from transformer to panel (Power unit) of suitable current rating.
415 / 440 V, 3 Ph, 50 Hz power supply to all auxiliaries like pumps, cooling towers, Hydraulic power unit etc.
Cooling water system including water tanks, cooling tower, pumps plate type Heat Exchanger, soft water treatment unit, piping, fittings as per our drawing.
Overhead tank for emergency water supply to coil in case of water system failure.
Complete civil work like furnace platform, foundation, overhead tank, underground tank etc., as per our drawing.
Consumables like hydraulic oil, distilled water, coil coating material, ramming mass, asbestos sheet, former etc.
Overhead crane, ladles for pouring, ramming tools and such other items required to run the system.
