At IIT Delhi, he studied all aspects of Textile Manufacturing, while at IIM Bangalore, he majored both in finance and Marketing. Thereafter, he acquired over two decades of rich experience in the Textile field-first on the technical side and in the later years in marketing. On the technical side, his major experience has been with Ahmedabad Textile Industries Research Association (ATIRA) in Technical Consultation and research. He is the author of five research papers and a monograph. On the business side, he has proven his mettle in the areas of product management, marketing, new business development and general management. Satish Khurana has a rich experience in the Product and Market Development of spandex in South Asia. He began his journey with the spandex product in South Asia in the late 1980’s with his technical assistance to the mill consumers as a Product Development Manager. He then spearheaded the development of the spandex market in South Asia, working with DuPont and later INVISTA, not only for generic spandex but also for the Lycra® brand spandex. Satish Khurana was the mastermind behind some of the major initiatives of building the Lycra® brand in the Indian subcontinent, including the Lycra® IMAGES Fashion Awards, Lycra® Rendezvous and Lycra® MTV Style Awards. To better leverage his technical acumen, business expertise and wide industry experience, Satish Khurana has now Founded INOVATIVE YARN PRIVATE LIMITED (IYPL), with the primary aim of marketing spandex to a growing consumer base.
