Rendering is a process that converts waste animal tissue into stable, value-added materials. Rendering can refer to any processing of animal byproducts into more useful materials, or more narrowly to the rendering of whole animal fatty tissue into purified fats like lard or tallow. Rendering can be carried out on an industrial, farm, or kitchen scale.

Its separates the grain mass in to two fraction as per the difference in specific gravity. The machine is fed onto the center of a perforated deck. The air coming through the deck from bottom stratifies the materials while the reciprocating action of the deck separates the heavy particles from the lighter particles. The heavier materials move towards the top end of the deck whereas the lighter particles are discharged from the end of the deck, without any middling product.
