A young couple, Jan and Frank (JA FRA ) Day, had studied beauty secrets reaching back to ancient Egypt. They created a unique skin care product:: Royal Jelly.
That was the beginning of JAFRA. Over time, a full line of innovative skin care products, cosmetics and fragrances were developed, dedicated to women looking and feeling their best.

For this reason, the construction of a modern and technologically-advanced manufacturing facility has been opened in the premiere industrial park of Querétaro, Mexico. It will house JAFRA's newest processing and packaging technologies, laboratories, offices and all other services needed to comply with the most modern standards for cosmetic production. "The new site and the investment in new production equipment will significantly improve our ability to produce high quality, innovative product. In strong cooperation with Research & Development, located in Westlake Village, California, the new facility will ensure the future production and delivery of great, innovative products to our consultants," says JAFRA's President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Friedrich Kroos. Dr. Kroos also noted that the site was strategically selected to allow growth. The facility increases the size of the currently manufacturing facility by more than 50%, which it replaces with room for further future expansion. The investment underscores the company's long-range vision and its commitment to both long-term growth and to ensuring quality products. The plant will be JAFRA's lead manufacturing facility supplying its worldwide operations, and it will continue the company's tradition of environmental responsibility and "green" business practices. Brazil is a country that has recently attracted a large amount of attention due to the strengthening of their current economic environment. With approximately 190 million inhabitants, Brazil is the 8th strongest economy in the world and #1 in Latin America. The government has worked hard to manage Brazil’s finances and has significantly increased the country’s international reserves. Brazil has also been declared an external creditor – when a country’s external assets surpass its liabilities – which is seen as a triumph in the government’s economic policy. All of these achievements have made Brazil a safe place for foreign investment. Within the cosmetics industry, Brazil in now the third largest beauty market, behind the US and Japan. Considering this promising scenario, JAFRA Cosmetics International has restructured their operations in Brazil and is making significant investments to ensure that JAFRA Brazil will prosper and grow in this opportunistic economy. JAFRA Brazil’s headquarters are located in an elegant region of Sao Paulo, which is the most industrious and influential city in the country. The headquarters have been built with a beautiful and modern design and the building includes a stylish showroom for Leaders and Consultants to use as a reference for their clientele. In only 1 year, the number of JAFRA consultants in Brazil has increased by 378% and the number of leaders has increased by 136%.
