USES:
MEKP is used as a catalyst for curing unsaturated polyester resin, in the manufacture of FRP articles, pipes, electric choke, polyester buttons, boats, helmets, motor car bodies, bath tubs, and synthetic marble.
USAGE:
MEKP should be used about 0.5% to 2% by weight of resin, depending upon the ambient temperature and setting time required. Accelerators (such as cobalt naphthenate or octoate) should be first added to the resin. Direct contact of MEKP with the accelerators should be avoided as the same may cause an explosion. A thorough mixing of the resin, catalyst and accelerator is suggested for best result. Unused MEKP should not be put back in the container.
