Such connectors are manufactured by copper. It consists of several stacked strips with riveted or welded contact areas. They have a constant cross-section over the whole length. Bus bars connectors with the same cross section can be loaded with the same current. A part of connectors are utilized as flexible expansion connectors in order to connect busbars or busbars with switch gears, transformers, generators etc. Thanks to their elasticity thermal expansion of bus bars is being compensated. Most of the parts are used as expansion connectors to prevent damages by vibration caused by switch gear operations. Another part is utilized as flexible components inside parts of machines (e.g. welding machines) or switch gears. These kind of connectors have to realize movements inside machines and switch gears. Copper Wire Bar / Cakes are forged / hot rolled and cold worked to the required dimension. The products are available in Hard, Half-Hard and Soft condition. General Properties Material with minimum Copper Content of 99.9% as per IS191 & IS1897.
  • Size: Width 5mm to 350mm; Thickness: 1mm to 60mm
  • Edge: Square Edge, Radius Edge, Full Radius Edge Length: Up to 6400mm (21`) (depending on section) with standard overall cutting tolerance of 100mm.
  • Surface Treatment: Our Flat Bars can be Electroplated with Tin or Silver.

Flat Copper Wire is drawn from round inlets in single operation, through a Roll-Draw unit. The round input is flattened in two stands of flattening rolls, with one edger in between and finally drawn through T.C. die having correct profile. The drawn strip is annealed at the vacuum annealing unit in protective gas atmosphere. General Properties are Material with minimum copper content 99.95% as per IS-191 & IS-6160; Cross Section is max. 120 mm²; Width is Between 3 to 160 mm; Thickness is Between 1 to 10 mm; Fields of Application are Bus Bars, transformer Windings, Motor Commutators, Trolley Wires etc.

These connectors have been developed specifically for the electrical distribution industry & are used extensively by generator & switchgear manufacturers. They are also used as expansion joints between solid Bus Bar arrangements. This heavy duty, high specification connectors have a current carrying capacity of up to 3500 amps. Multi-laying braids either on top of each other or side by side can increase the current carrying capacity.
