The High Density Polyethylene Sheets are used in the Textiles, Orthopaedic, Automotive, Luggage and Lining Industry, in the Foods industry, Packing, in the Building, Mechanical carpentry, Recreation and Automation Industry due to their limited friction, better flexibility, high impact and scraping resistance over and above it is thermoformable into a variety of shapes.

 

Polyethylene has a low specific weight; a remarkable resistance to high temperatures and as a basic characteristic is quite atoxic. It also has good chemical resistance properties combined with better moisture resistance.

 

The High Density Polyethylene Sheets can be easily worked with using the same tools - already existing in the wood and metal industry - but equipped with special milling cutters.

Low Density Polyethylene Sheets are ideally suited to many applications in the Chemical, Lining and other industries due to its combination of properties. It has outstanding chemical and electrical properties, is nontoxic and has very low permeability to water.

 

Low Density Polyethylene Sheets have excellent chemical resistance to alkalis, salt solutions, most solvents and strong mineral acids however, they are not resistant to strong oxidizing agents, such as fuming nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide and chlorosulphuric acid. Prolonged attack from aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons can cause swelling.

Generally, a plastic sheet is heated and vacuum formed or draped onto a mould of plaster of paris to get the finished product - Orthotic or Prosthetic appliance. Since the mould is made as per customer specifics, it is very important that the sheet gets heated evenly, does not shrink and has a good setting time to get most of the contours of the mould specifically on the plastic appliance. Secondly it has to be flexible / rigid (as per requirement) as well as durable to make the customer comfortable once he/she wears the Orthotic or Prosthetic appliance.

Polypropylene Glass Fabric Reinforced Sheets are, Polypropylene Sheets duly laminated on-line with a non-woven or stretch fabric which has glass filler content, to retain all the general characteristics of Polypropylene sheets and to enable excellent bond and shear strength for the manufacture of Chemical vessels, Tanks, Containers, etc.

 

Generally, polyester resin, glass fibre or glass matting reinforced coat is applied for bonding with metal for a super-reinforced structure. The best advantage is, it allows the user to have the maximum benefit of high chemical and corrosion resistance properties along with improved mechanical properties of Polypropylene when large large-weight structures needs to be designed and erected, which is not possible using the conventional unsupported thermoplastics.

• PP Sheet duly laminated on-line with a woven polypropylene fiberglass fabric.
• Retains all the general characteristics of PP sheets.

The Polypropylene Sheets are usually employed in the Chemical, Lining/Cladding, Luggage, Food Processing and Packaging, Tan and Gold industry due to their high resistance against chemical corrosion, high temperatures, impact and abrasion. Polypropylene furthermore has a low specific weight of about 0.91 gms. / cc. consequently it is the lightest of all thermoplastic materials.

 

Considering that the most of the thermoplastic resins cannot be used over 60° C, it is important to point out that Polypropylene at 100° C still retains approximately 30% of mechanical characteristics available at room temperature. Since the Vicat softening point of Polypropylene is high it can be considered as a suitable material for use at temperatures between - 10° C and + 40° C. At this temperature also Polypropylene has an high impact resistance. Under - 10° C Polypropylene looses partially its resilience characteristics, whose value is anyway more than sufficient for most of the usual applications.

 

The chemical resistance of Polypropylene has been tested against most of the chemical reagents; organic and inorganic, with excellent results also at temperatures, where usually common thermoplastics cannot be employed anymore.

Thermoformable Sheets, which are especially blended sheets wherein sheets marketed under the brand name Formable - 'H' Sheets have PE as a base polymer whereas Formable - 'H' Sheets have PP as a base polymer. These sheets have enhanced properties like good stiffness, good melt strength, ESCR and impact resistance.

Ortho Sheets, which are also especially blended sheets wherein sheets marketed under the brand name Ortho -'H Sheets have PE as a base polymer whereas Ortho -'P' Sheets have PP as a base polymer. These sheets have enhanced properties like good melt strength, good impact resistance, good setting time, minimum shrinkage and at the same time suitable for vacuum forming as well as draping applications and are used especially for manufacturing Orhtopaedic Appliances by the Orthotic & Prosthetic Aids manufacturing Industry.

Embossed Sheets, wherein one side of the sheet is plain and the other side has an embossed design / texture wherein "Jasud" offers "Orange Peel" design at present.

Anti-static Sheets, which are sheets manufactured using Anti-Static masterbatch to help decrease the static charge on the surface of the sheets. Static charge is an inherent characteristic of any polyolefin material, which can be a problem with certain specific applications and can damage the quality and performance of the end product. For example: Anti-Static quality of sheets is used to manufacture textile spinning cans, which are used to collect sliver. The static charge on the inner surface of the sheet attracts the yarn towards itself, which damages the sliver and results in a degraded quality of yarn.

UV Stabilized Sheets, which are sheets manufactured using UV masterbatch to help decrease deterioration in quality of sheets due to photo degradation.

Antioxidant quality of Sheets, which are sheets manufactured using Antioxidant masterbatch to help in having a good thermal stability and to decrease deterioration in quality of sheets due to thermal degradation.

 

"Jasud" manufactures Thermoformable Sheets in natural as well as a special black colour version, which can be thermoformed into a variety of shapes and articles like industrial material handling pallets, packaging separators, packaging trays, etc. These Sheets are specially manufactured under stringent conditions to enable easy formability of the sheets.
