Need for phytase : Availability of phosphorus in the feed is of extreme importance in poultry nutrition. Phosphorus is available in plant sources e. G. Corn and soybean meal to the extent of 30-40 percent, however it is in the insoluble form , phytic acid complex with proteins. Enzyme phytase is helpful in hydrolyzing the phytate molecule and releasing the inorganic phosphorus in the form which can be utilized by the animal for meeting it's nutritional requirement. Poultry birds can not produce phytase in sufficient amounts and hence the addition of phytsae to the feed helps increase the productivity of poultry birds. It also eliminates the need for adding inorganic phosphorous in the form of dcr. Addition of phytase has proven to reduce the excretion of phosphorus in manure, thereby helping control environmental pollution.

Jayphyte is a phytase enzyme formulation produced by microbial fermentation using aspergillus spp.

Liver is the main site of lipid biosynthesis and is particularly very active organ in poultry birds. Yolk lipids and proteins are secreted as lipoproteins under the influence of estrogen in the liver. When hepatic lipogenesis exceeds the capacity of fat transport, lipoproteins, triacylglycerols commence to accumulate in the liver, leading to fatty liver syndrome.

Fatty liver syndrome is an important metabolic disorder in laying flocks / brolilers after they reach peak growth. Typical pathological symptoms are pale enlarged liver, exhibiilhg extreme infiltration of fat and hemorrhages. This retards transportation of triacylglycerols from liver to the developing oocyte. Due to liver disorder, the efficiency of detoxification process slows down resulting in low productivity, frequent disease outbreak and poor fcr in broiler, layer or breeder.

The utilization of nutrients in the feed is complete only when it is fully digested and absorbed by the intestinal cells. This process depends on the gut environment prevailing in the bird. The gut environment is generally regulated by pH and intestinal micro flora. The intestinal micro flora is largely composed of both gram positive bacteria and entero pathogens ( gram negative bacteria ) acting in a delicate balance at an ideal pH range.

In healthy condition, predominance of gram positive bacteria help keeping the intestinal environment favorable for digestion and absorption of nutrients. When this balance shift to more of gram negative bacteria, the pathogen start taking the upper hand and cause diseases. A diseased or unhealthy intestine cannot absorb nutrients fully apart from causing clinical syndromes. Thus it is essential to keep the intestinal environment healthy. What is JayCid?

JayCid is a unique acidifier that reduces the pH value of the gut and maintain favourable conditions throughout the gastro intestinal track, thus helping digestion of nutrients more effectively JayCid is a proprietary combination of selected organic acids, beta glucan, Mannan Oligosaccharides and organic acid treated base. Mechanism of Action of JayCid:

The antimicrobial activity of organic acids present in JayCid is related to reduction in pH and their ability to dissociate. wWch is determined by the pKa value of particular acid and the pH of the surrounding environment. The organic acids are lipid soluble in undissociated form. The more the number of undissociated form of organic acids, better will be the efficacy. Steps Involved in prevention of enteropathogens:

• First, the undissociated form of the organic acid penetrates into the cell membrane
