Aluminium copper bi–metal  (ALCU) consists of copper (sheet metal) cladded on pure Aluminium (base metal), both metals being diffused together to form an inseparable whole by roll bonding process.

Bi – Metal, is therefore not an alloy and copper layers are not Electro plating / galvanic coatings but are rather mechanically welded on Aluminium with Copper sheets.

Aluminium Terminals are directly connected to Copper Terminals to carry current at a high voltage, a bimetallic galvanic corrosion occurs, resulting in a high resistance at the joint. The heated joints are oxidized and losses contact resulting in sparks, voltage dropout power losses and failure, damage to machinery.

When bimetal is placed between Aluminium Terminal and Copper Terminal at the joint (with Copper facing Copper and Aluminium facing Aluminium), bimetallic galvanic corrosion is averted due to absence of air in bimetal.
Bi – Metal is thus used at dissimilar metals joints of Aluminium and Copper to make similar metal's contact.

An alloy of copper, zinc and nickel, the range of nickel silver sheet strips are also known as German silver. Procured from reliable vendors, our range has a bright silvery appearance but actually contain no silver. Some of the basics of nickel silver alloy are:

Contain 10-25% nickel and 17-40% zinc with the remainder being copper.	Classified by their nickel content with higher nickel contents producing a whiter, silvery color
Corrosion resistance increases with higher nickel content and the resulting alloys are less vulnerable to stress corrosion. Strength also increases with nickel content but the increased nickel has little effect on ductility.	For industrial applications there is limited advantage in exceeding a nickel content of 18%, however for decorative applications a higher nickel content will provide maximum resistance to stain and tarnish.
The spring properties of the alloys are good and remain so at elevated temperatures.	The electrical conductivity of nickel silver is much less than that for copper.
Where a nickel silver alloy is to be machined, lead can be added to the alloy (usually 1-2%) to improve results.
