JLC manufacturing unit possesses a fully integrated production infrastructure starting from melting of virgin raw materials to final packaging stage; lead by a highly qualified team of engineers, supervisors and operators. Quality

JLC is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company. For ensuring the highest quality of our products, we have put in practice stringent QMS. Besides process control, quality plans are used for testing at incoming, in-process and finished material stages using sophisticated equipment. All critical process parameters are controlled using SPC tools and all processes are set using FEMA to ensure high quality of products.

New materials and technologies are being continuously developed at JLC to provide the customers with WORLD Class products globally.

We have fully equipped in-house laboratories for testing chemical, metallurgical and electro-magnetic properties of the materials. These are supported by an experienced team of dedicated engineers.

History

JLC dates back to its foundation 35 years ago. A young and ambitious engineer with a vision to contribute to the industrial and economic map of India started his venture to manufacture Lead-in-wires for electric lamps.  This was the beginning of a long journey; since then JLC has continuously added various alloys to its product portfolio and has developed a strong relationship with its customers ranging from small companies to multi-national OEMs. Foresight, diligence and innovation have helped JLC become the leading manufacturer of Nickel and Nickel based alloys in wire, strips and ribbon forms.

Manufacturing Process

At JLC, we start with the purest available raw materials to achieve the required chemical composition. A correct chemical composition is necessary to give uniform and required properties to different alloys. The alloys are Melted, Hot-Rolled and Processed to final sizes using state-of-the-art technology.

We at JLC believe in continious improvement; all processes are constantly monitored at each step using statistical process control tools to ensure the best quality of the final products. The process for making each alloy is set after a detailed exercise using concepts such as Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FEMA) and Design of Experiments (DOE).

Raw Material:
  • Only virgin materials used in melting for all alloys.
  • Nickel is sourced mainly from Europe.
  • All other metals sourced from high-quality suppliers.
  • Most of the metals used are pure/electrolytic grade to ensure highest purity levels.

Melting:
  • Completely integrated manufacturing facility; all alloys manufactured right from the melting stage.
  • Melting done in Electric Furnaces.
  • Capacity to melt in different batch sizes- big and small.
  • Special techniques to control oxide levels.

Preparation of Ingots:
  • Pouring technique - ensures consistency and high surface quality.
  • All ingots machined to remove surface defects from the melting stage.

Hot Rolling:
  • Ingots pre-heated (red hot) and then hot-rolled on a rolling mill.
  • Ingots hot rolled to rods or strip form.
  • Different roll-passes for different alloys.
  • Rolling carried out at high speeds to prevent high temperature oxidation of materials.

Annealing:
  • Hot-rolled material subjected to batch annealing in controlled atmosphere furnaces.
  • Optional cleaning of annealed material to remove the oxide layers.
  • Cleaned material then washed with water for a thoroughly clean surface.
  • Coated with a suitable lubricant carrier.

Drawing:
  • Heavy gauge wire drawn to size on modern high-speed drawing blocks.
  • JLC has over 50 blocks in sets of 11, 9, 6, 5 and 3, etc.
  • Wet drawing for wire sizes below 2 mm.
