Nickel Alloys

Nickel Alloys

Nickel Alloys
Nickel 200/201 is most widely used grade, generally specified for transistor caps, anodes for electronic tubes, leads of electronic components / Lead-in-Wires for lamps and for Wire-Mesh. Also used in strip form for various applications including Ni-Cd batteries.

Nickel 205 is also used for similar applications as Ni 200, mostly where higher purity and conductivity is required; inner parts of bulbs and electron tubes.

Condition of Supply:Nickel 200, 201 and 205 are supplied in the following conditions:
  • Cold Drawn, Special Temper
  • Cold Drawn, Annealed. Straightened and Cut Lengths

Nickel Copper Alloys

JLC 400/410 is a nickel-copper, solid-solution alloy with excellent resistance to corrosion in reducing atmosphere along with good mechanical properties. It is widely used in wire mesh and filters for chemical and petrochemical industry. Also used for mechanical applications in cold-headed parts and fasteners. The wire is used in lamp industry extensively as a fuse wire in lead-in-wires.

JLC 500 is a nickel-copper alloy containing 3% of aluminum (Al) and 0.6% of titanium (Ti) as additional alloying elements, are heat-treatable and may be strengthened by precipitation hardening. It is mainly required in applications needing corrosion resistant properties.

Typical Physical Properties:

Nickel Manganese Alloys

Nickel 211/212 has some percentage of Mn in it, making it a bit stiff. It is mainly used in cables, Lead-in-Wire for lamps, electronic tube supports and wire cloth. It also finds its extensive use for wire mesh and filters for the chemical and petro-chemical industries. It is a good thermal conductor and has good corrosion resistance.
