Late Sohanlal Mall, was the Founder of the Group, who despite being tied to a wheel chair, took the company to great heights. He started his business by his take over of Prabartak Jute Mills Ltd. situated in Kamarhatti, Kolkata, in the year 1965. It was later taken over by his elder sone Late Jag Mohan Mall. He also established another manufacturing unit by the name of Jaikishandass Mall Jute Products (P) Ltd in a small village called Rupsa, in the stae of Orissa. Both these manufacturing Units are being now managed by his Son Brij Mohan Mall and Grand sons Harsh Vardhan Mall and Yash Vardhan Mall. By following ethical policies and practices, the JM Group has carved a niche in the Jute industry for good quality Jute products and has created a brand name for itself in the international market in the hands of its young enterpuners at present.
