Fully enclosed If your finishing demands a totally controlled environment for either hand or automated spray painting the booth must be fully enclosed and provided with its own micro-climate. A typical design is a full depth spray booth with the front enclosed by fully or partly glazed panels. Such a booth can be fitted with filtered inlet air set- up, and temperature and humidity control units as optional.
Tunnel Booths These are designed for intermittent production of large workpieces where there must be access to the workpiece from all sides. The booth may be fully closed or open at one end, Dimensions are governed only by the size of the work be sprayed and the floor area available, Airflow is along the booth from one end to the other taking overspray through either wet or dry filtration which may be at one end of the booth or beneath grid flooring. Tunnel booths may be fitted with filtered inlet air set up, temperature and humidity control set up. Generally, such types of tunnel booths have diffused artificial lighting and sliding, hinged or roller shutter doors.
Downdraught Booths These booths are designed for hand spray of the largest types of work - earth moving quipment, tractors, locomotives, buses, cranes, etc. Depending on the nature of the work. they may be either single sided or double sided and open. partly enclosed or fully enclosed. Airflow is vertical from top to bottom through either an open roof or through an air replacement system. Overspray is carried down through grid flooring to a wet filtration system. Depending on tile work to be carried out in the booth and the nature of access required. a Bullows downdraught spray booth may incorporate pits. hydraulic lifts. access platforms or galleries at several convenient levels. Fully diffused lighting can be installed throughout the booth. Any type of complicated exhaust ducting can be installed by Bullows.
The heart of this spray booth is the special Bullows Disposable Paper Filter. This filter consists of two sheets of heavy paper with corrugations of unequal size which are attached at the corrugations. Each sheet has rows of perforations staggered relative to the other, both vertically and horizontally, resulting in a tortuous passage, so that the air stream strikes at least four surfaces before it leaves the filter. In doing so, the sticky deposits strike the Surfaces and adhere. only the air being finally discharged.
The Nopump principle is very different. There is no water screen and no pump. Instead, a fan creates a high velocity air stream across the surface of the water tank. This causes the surface to shear and liquid is entrained by the air. Overspray is drawn into this air/liquid mixture and violently scrubbed in a area of extreme turbulence caused by sharp changes in the direction of the air/liquid stream. Since there is nothing to become clogged, the resin particles are encouraged to reticulate so that they can be scrubbed, again and again. Eventually, the resin is completely broken down. Pigment sinks to the bottom of the washing tank as a non-sticky silt which is relatively easy to dispose off.
Summary of Nopump Advantages
• There is no circulating pump, pipework, nozzles or filters to clog up. • Superior type of water treatment leads to more complete breakdown of resins. • Negligible maintenance because there is no pump, hence minimum moving parts. • Economy – designed to keep down installation costs high reliability and low maintenance. • Minimum floor space. Nopump booths are compact and no space outside the booth is needed for pumps or settling pits or filter tanks. • Clean air. Nopump efficiency minimises the risk of pollution from paint laden exhaust. • Much easier to clean out.
