K-Resin Styrene-Butadiene Copolymers Polymers

Introductions & Properties: K-Resin Styrene-Butadiene Copolymers (SBC) are a family of clean resins. These durable copolymers are known for their glass-like clarity, good toughness, excellent rigidity & high surface gloss etc. SBC offer a balance of performance and economics that bridge the gap between high cost, clear engineering polymers and low cost, brittle plastics like general purpose polystyrene.

Polyacetal Polymers

Introductions & Properties: Where low wear, high flexural fatigue, creep performance and fuel resistance are some of the key requirements for your applications, POM could provide the right solution. POM – also known as ACETAL or POLYACETAL - is a highly crystalline, high performance engineering polymer that displays a broad range of properties, among the most notable being low coefficient of friction, excellent wear resistance, high modulus, and resistance to many solvents and automotive fuels. Basic mechanical properties include high strength and stiffness coupled with good impact strength. Low moisture absorption results in excellent dimensional stability and makes POM an excellent candidate for parts that must exhibit tight tolerances in moist environments.

Polyethylene Polymers

Introduction & Properties: UTEC® is the trade name of the Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) developed and produced by Braskem with its own technology resources.

UTEC® has a molecular weight about 10 times higher than that of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) resins. The Ultra High Molecular Weight of UTEC® results in excellent mechanical properties such as high abrasion resistance, impact strength and low coefficient of friction. These special properties allow the product to be used in several high performance applications.

San Resin Polymers

Styrene Acrylonitrile commonly known as SAN Resin.Styrene and acrylonitrile monomers can be co polymerized to form a random, amorphous co polymer that has improved weather ability, stress crack resistance, and barrier properties. The co polymer is called styrene acrylonitrile or SAN. The SAN co polymer generally contains 70% to 80% Styrene and 20% to 30% Acrylonitrile. This combination provides higher strength, rigidity, and chemical resistance than polystyrene, but it is not quite as clear as crystal polystyrene and its appearance tends to yellow more quickly.

Polycarbonate Polymers

Introductions & Properties: Polycarbonate is most commonly known as PC. It falls into the polyester family of plastics. PC & PC based resins offer high impact resistance, outstanding dimensional stability, crystal clarity with excellent toughness. PC resin is an amorphous engineering thermoplastic with high mechanical, optical, electrical & thermal properties. PC is available with UV stabilized and mold release grades. It is also available in FDA compliant, Flame Retardant & high flow grades.
