Tensile Testing Machine for Leather:
We offer tensile testing machine which is electrically operated and is used to check the physical impurities. It is a vertical type, limit switches are incorporated for both the directions so as to limit the traveling range. The accuracy of the machine is within permissible limit as per IS: 1828 load elongation recorder can also be provided on requirement. We also offer Analogue/Digital/Computerised machines.

Crockmeter


Used to determine colour fastness to rubbing and staining.

  • Specimen are rubbed with dry/wet, undyed cotton crocking cloth.
  • The staining on the crocking cloth is assessed with a Grey Scale.
  • The Motorised crock meter is a preset digital counter, automatically stops after predetermined number of cycles.
  • The motor drives the reciprocation arm at a constant speed of 60 r.p.m and
  • The counts are sensed by a non-contact type proxy sensor.
Flammability tester

A flame from a standard jet is made to impinge on the upper face of the fabric near its bottom edge and the time taken for it to propagate through a specified distance determines the flammability of fabric under test.

  • It is an inclined plane type tester
    Specimen test is held in a sheet metal holder at an inclination of 45 deg C.
  • The ignition time is set from a digital electronic pre-set tuner.
  • The flame jet is automatically brought back to it's initial position at the end of the pre-set time interval.
  • The instrument confirms to ASTM, BS and DIN standards.

Perspirometer

We offer perspirometer to test colour fastness & perspiration of textile. The metallic frame is with 5kg loading device. Acrylic resin separator plates supplied. Recommended two units one for acidic tests and the other for alkaline tests. The procedure normally involves, treatment of samples in contact with specified fabrics and placing them between the plates of the PERSPIROMETER. The unit is then incubated for the specified number of hours at body temperature. After drying, the change in color of each sample and the staining of the fabrics are assessed with Grey Scales.

Pilling tester


Pilling tester ranks fabrics in the same order of pilling propensity as would be found in the normal wear. Pilling is the surface deterioration of the fabric which significantly reduces useful life.

Test Piece

The following three kinds of test specimens are used in ordinary tests:
  • 70-90 mm wide metal trip sheet
  • 70-90 mm square sheet
  • 70-90 mm dia. circular sheet
Procedure
  • Slice both sides of specimen with standard Vaseline oil
  • Before Testing set the punch top so that it touches the plane and set the micrometer to zero.
  • Push the punch slowly with the constant speed of 0.1 mm/sec.
  • The machine should be operated at 48 r.p.m by the handle, screw pitch 5mm and the gear ratio 4:1.
  • The Erichsen's number is indicated in millimeters from the specimen's holding surface up to the point where first crack is made on the reverse side of the specimen.
Watch the back mirror while pressing the punch at the given speed by the handle and stop revolving when a crack is observed.
