Profile

An aura of modernity and a quaint sense of history tickles the sensitivity at our three star heritage hotel, The Kalimpong Park Hotel, in Kalimpong, once known as Dinajpur House, the former summer residence of the Maharaja of Dinajpur. This hotel with a distinct personality sits one kilometer uphill from the town area and commands breathtaking view of the sweeping majesty of the Himalayas. The hotel faces north-east, and has a 270 degree panoramic view of the hills and valleys, with Kachenjunga massif standing majestically on the left. The hotel has it's own gardens and cars drive up to the front door. Well connected through airport and railways at a distance of 80 km we are blessed with the best of a Himalayan gift. Kalimpong situated at an altitude of 1,250 metres, has a moderate climate ranging from between 15°c to 25°C in Summer and 7°C to 15°C in Winter, offering year round comfort.

Kalimpong is a secular place. If the salubrious climate bodes well for the body , the Buddhist Gumphas,Hindu Temples and Christian Churches standing cheek by jowl nourishes the soul. And for those who are looking for little retail therapy the exotic bazaars have in store every thing from Tibetan thankas and Lepcha daggers to Chinese lamps and masks.

At present the hotel has 27 Deluxe rooms including three Deluxe Suites, and well appointed public areas with a porch, patio and garden area. There are immediate plans of further expansion. The facilities and services offered by us goes beyond our three star status.

The services ,and facilities some of which are Colonial Lounge,Conference and Banquet Room,Dragon Restaurant,Restaurant,Laundry Services,Baby Sitters System,Medical Service make the guest let down their hair and settle to a rare comfort zone. Our holiday package offers a true "Town and Country" holiday, comprising Kalimpong town delights, trekking tours, forest and flora exploration, Buddhist tours and meditation, River Rafting, Mountain Biking, or just a "relax and laze" holiday.
