The success story of “KB” industries begin about 300 years ago when the fore fathers of Kamil Bhai migrated to Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) from Multan, now in Pakistan. Though they were the descendents of great mughals, they were not unduly perturbed over their lineage. Instead they were happy to exploit the gift that the Almighty had so benignly bestowed upon them to turn the brass into lasting artifacts.

But it was Allah Baksh, the grandfather of Kamil Bhai, who had the family sagacity to exploit the family trait in a business like manner. It was he who laid the foundation of the “KB” empire by launching on a modest scale in 1880, the firm than known as “Allah Baksh Mohammad Ismail Ji”. It manufactured Kabli Hukkahs of Brass, smoking Farshis etc.

Haji Mohammad Ismail Ji, son of Allah Baksh, following his father’s footsteps, worked untiringly to keep the banner of his father flying ever so high. He capably steered the Cottage Industry his father had so painstakingly set up. Finally as the age threatened to overtake Haji Ismail, he passed on the mantle of his modest empire onto his son Kamil Bhai.

Born in 1921, Kamil Bhai was only 16 years old boy when he took charge of the industry in 1937. But belying his age, Kamil Bhai showed the signs of a genius and turned his apparent handicap of being so young to comprehend the demands of his calling into an asset by working incessantly to learn the nuances of his trade. At such as early age with the skill to turn the brass into an artifact, he started manufacturing Electroplated NickleSilver (EPNS) table wares which soon caught the imagination of the people at large. By so doing he showed that he had his hand on the pulse of the people and could exactly deliver what the people wanted.
