JKJM was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in 1931 and promoted by family members of J.K Singhania Group. It was converted into a Public Limited Company in 1954. JKJM was engaged in the manufacture of conventional jute goods viz.

Hession and Sacking for catering for to the domestic market. Now the company has been taken over by the Axis Group ad it's premotors who have vast experience in the qualitative manufacturing and marketing of the Jute products and are confident to achieve the optimum production. After the acquishion of Singhania owned JK Mills in Kanpur, Axis Group high standing in the Jute Industry , with a large workforce in West Bengal, the Group is one of the West Bengal's largest Employers.
