 Introduction Incepted in 1976 as a small scale cottage industry, Karthic Match Works is engaged in producing & exporting of safety matches for everyday purposes. Our product range includes: Vega, Leopard, Xtra, Kwality, MCD, Chata, Top and Flash Match Box. With an experience of 28 years, we have expanded our single unit into 3 more units. Until 2002, our unit was one of the major contributors in domestic sales. After 2002, our unit got engaged in the export market supplying matches to overseas clients.
Our organization have progressed rapidly under the guidance of Mr. M. Pandiarajan who is our founder member and have made immense efforts to make this company successful in its area of operation. We are also member of India Chamber of Commerce and CAPEEXIL, Kolkata. Our range of safety matches have a strong presence in states of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Uttaranchal and Andhra Pradesh. We have also exported to U.S.A, Egypt, Sri Lanka and many African countries.

Raw Materials Used
Wood, cardboard and paraffin wax are used to make our matchsticks. Our match stick tip is made from potassium chlorate, black manganese, sulphur and glues. Our experts ensure that the raw materials are porous enough to absorb various chemicals, and rigid enough to withstand the bending forces encountered when the match is struck. They should also be straight-grained and easy to work, so that they may be readily cut into sticks. |

Team
We have created a team of experts who are engrossed in coming out with quality products that are innovative and unique. Our team includes 6 management professionals, 18 skilled and 86 semi skilled personnels with 2 highly educated quality controllers. Our team has a complete knowledge regarding the manufacturing process of matches so that they do not cause any harm and are complete safe. We have also employed women in our manufacturing unit for the box filling process so that the urgent requirements can be easily met with. |

Manufacturing Facility
We possess a well equipped production unit which is backed by state-of-the-art technology and hi-tech machines which help in yielding efficient and effective results. Headquartered at Kovilpatti, India, our manufacturing unit is located in Elayirampannai 10 km from Kovilpatti and 50 km from Port Tuticorin. Set up in an area of 6200 sq. ft., our matches are prepared using various processes like: wax frame filling, chemical dipping, frame drying, box filling, carton packing, loading and central excise sealing. All these processes are carried on using specialized machines like: wire drawing, frame filling, outer/inner pasting machine, packing machine and shrinking machine. It is only with the coordination of our man and machines that we have earned and annual turnover of 8 crores. |

Quality
We ensure that all our products are of premium quality and are non hazardous. We conduct quality control checks at all stages of production so that any minor defect is removed at the earliest stage. We have appointed 2 quality control analysts to check the quality of our matches. The chemicals for each portion of the match head are weighed and measured exactly to avoid any variation in the match composition that might affect performance. Our analysts constantly monitor the operation and visually inspect the product at all stages to ensure their safety. |

Our Export Markets
We are exporting safety matches for the past 2 years. We have exported to USA, Sri Lanka, Egypt and many African countries. So far we have been operating through our agents in India.
