patra bharati started its journey way back in 1968. In that very year the inaugural issue of the monthly magazine kishore bharati appeared as a puja special. It was a magazine for the teens¿with a unique taste and character.

on august 3, 1981, patra bharati stepped into the field of book publishing. Its objective and motive was very clear. Through the books, patra bharati
promised to maintain the ideology based upon honesty, values and rationality.


from 1981 to 2001, patra bharati continued publishing the monthly magazine kishore bharati along with different books suitable for the juvenile and teenage readers.

in short, till the onset of the 21st century patra bharati was branded as a publisher of children¿s literature.



patra bharati set out for new horizons in the 21st century. It entered the domanis of literature in general. On one had it published books on history, critical essays, socio-economic studies, biographies, memoirs, progressive political documents and thought provoking writings ¿ and on the other hand it was involved in publishing short story collections, complete works of distinguished authors, important anthologies etc.
