Lithium batteries are disposable (primary) batteries that have lithium metal or lithium compounds as an anode. Depending on the design and chemical compounds used, lithium cells can produce voltages from 1.5 V to about 3.7 V, over twice the voltage of an ordinary zinc-carbon battery or alkaline cell battery.

A battery charger is a device used to put energy into a secondary cell or (rechargeable) battery by forcing an  through it.
The charge current  depends upon the technology and capacity of the battery being charged. For example, the current that should be applied to recharge a 12  Volt car battery will be very different from the current for a mobile phone battery.
