Injection moulding is the manufacturing process for producing parts from thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics by applying heat energy to the resins thus, converting granular resins into a molten state and force injecting the liquefied material into a mould under high pressure into the cavity of the mould. The resin is allowed to cool or cure and is ejected out of the mould taking the shape of the cavity and core. Injection mould machine also known as an injection press consists of two main parts, a clamping unit and an injection unit. Classified into two broad categories, horizontal or vertical depending on the mould orientation and moulding requirement. Majority machines are horizontal but a few are vertical where the application is niche insert moulding where gravity is used to the advantage.
