This distinction rewarded the quality of the presentation as well as the technical merits of the innovative solutions used for renovating Sochaux¿s paintshop, and especially the new Accubell 709 EVO designed by Sames.
Developed in 18 months, this brand new solution for waterbased products will soon equip, with 16 sprayers, the first one of the three PSA Sochaux¿ paint lines.
In this production facility are manufactured Peugeot 308, 3008 and 5008 as well as the new Citro¿n DS5 (total annual production of around 400,000 vehicles).
Benefiting from all the advantages of the previous ranges, Accubell 709 EVO allows to:
* reduce the application time per vehicle
* reduce the quantity of paint lost at color changes and quantity of paint during application
* widen the application scope, as Accubell 709 EVO is dedicated to paint both interiors and exteriors of car bodies and plastic parts like bumpers and mirror covers
* get rid of the control of the thickness of the paint film coated
* maintain high performances in all conditions of humidity or temperature.
By integrating Sames¿ Accubell 709 EVO solution in the ¿2nd generation compact paint process¿, PSA Peugeot Citro¿n will improve its finishing quality for the new top of DS¿ range. It will also reduce its environmental footprint regarding energy consumptions, as well as V.O.C emissions (Volatile Organic Compounds) and paint consumptions.
These assets have also convinced Subaru, whose growth targets are of nearly 37% up to 2016 (900,000 vehicles forecasted). As from January 2012, 8 Accubell 709 EVO will support Subaru to increase its production, by painting the Legacy sedan and the Outback crossover (Lafayette - Indiana, USA).
Tesla, first world manufacturer of electric sports vehicles, with 1650 Roadsters sold, was also convinced by Accubell 709 EVO. This technology will be used for the S Model of sedan planned in production mid 2012.
After the USA and France, Accubell 709 EVO is to conquering China, the biggest world automobile market, which growth of the coming years will not yield. This conquest looks promising: the third factory of Dongfeng-PSA Peugeot Citro¿n JV will receive in 2013 the same innovative, flexible and responsible solution that is used in Sochaux.
