Anchor Grout

Anchor Grout
K 5 Anchor Grout is supplied as a two part system, pre-measured blend of polyester resins, with selected graded fillers, which, when mixed, offer a high strength, fast setting, fast curing grout of thixotropic consistency. The mixed grout will harden to give rapid strength gain. Designed for the anchoring of steel bars and bolts into concrete, machinery and brickwork.

Uses :

K 5 anchor grout can be used for a permanent installation of reinforcement doweling and starter bars, foundation bolts, base plates, hand rails, safety fences, wall tiles, railway tracks, tie back anchors and grout for tower cranes. Due to its thixotropic nature K 5 anchor grout can be used in vertical, horizontal and overhead situations where the hole diameter exceeds the bar diameter by not less than 4 mm and not more than 25 mm. Designed for the grouting and anchoring of steel bars and bolts into concrete, stone, machinery and brickwork where speed of installation and early load bearing capacity is required.

Advantages :
  • Pre packed easy to use water proofing coating.
  • Rapid strength gain
  • Vibration resistant
  • Corrosion resistant
  • High early strength
  • Extremely durable
  • Weather resistant
  • Can be used in damp conditions
  • Fast setting and self curing.
  • The hardened grout is resistant to chemical attack from many chemicals and petroleum products.

Typical Properties:

Compressive Strength : 24 hours - 50 N/mm2; Ultimate – 85 N/mm2; Pot life - 15 minutes at 30OC; Density - 1.92 gms/cc (Typical axial pull out strength is 48 N/mm2 in concrete using mild studding in holes drilled by rotary percussive equipment.) Temperature range in application : 0OC to 40OC; In service : -20OC to 60OC.

Failure in all cases was in the concrete. Chemical resistance-cured K 5 anchor grout is resistant to water, oils, petrol greases and mild acids and alkali solutions. Anchor design : The strength of the cured K 5 anchor grout permits the production of anchors capable of high loadings. The ultimate load will be governed by the following factors : l Strength of substrate. Length of bond. Dimensions and type of bar l Hole drilling and preparation

Application Instructions :

Preparation :
Hole should be formed using rotary percussive drilling techniques. Diamond drilled holes should be scrabbled or undreamed. Pre-cast holes should have roughened sides. All dust and drilling debris should be removed. Bars and bolts should be degreased and all rust removed. MIXING : 5 K 5 anchor grout is supplied in preweighed two packs. The content of plastic bag should be emptied in metal container, mixed thoroughly to form a smooth paste. Once mixed two component use it in one operation. Bigger pack can be mixed as required by mixing / volume of the resin component with 2 volumes of the powder.

Installation : The grout should be injected to the bottom of the hold to avoid entrapment of air. Due to its thixotropic nature, loss of K 5 ANCHOR GROUT from the hole will be insignificant. K 5 anchor grout is designed for use where the gap between the hole 3 and bar is 12 mm or less. Cleaning: All equipment should be cleaned with solvents
