Chemical Surface Treatment![]() Chemical Surface Treatment K-5 shut release is supplied as a pale amber liquid which turns white when diluted with water to produce a chemical release agent, combining the outstanding release properties of such materials with the economy of a conventional oil. It reacts with the alkali in the concrete to form a thin water repellent layer on the surface of the mould which enables easy stripping from the hardened concrete. It has been specially formulated to reduce or eliminate surface imperfection in pre cast, prestressed and poured in place concrete. Improve the concrete surface by reducing or eliminating surface voids and effects. Reduce need for and cost of frequently cleaning forms by reducing the concrete residue. Non-staining: can be used with white cement. uses
advantages
application instructions mixing : first dilute k-5 shut release concentrate in the proportion of 1 litre to 5 litres of water, using a clean container and stirring thoroughly until evenly mixed. If the solution is not used on the same day, it should be stirred again before use and may require very good stirring after five days. New mould is to be : no preparation is normally necessary unless metal moulds show signs of rust, then they must be wire brushed or treated with emery cloths and finished clean before coating. Used moulds : must be thoroughly cleaned and to be made free from old concrete, dirt cement lattiance, old mould oil and other contaminations. Use a strong detergent for removal of oil and grease; use setkilens for cement and concrete deposits. application of k-5 shut release apply k-5 shut release 1:5 water dilution to the face of the formwork by spray, brush or cloth. Only one coat should be applied as thinly as possible except on very absorbent new timber where two coats may be necessary for the first application only and allow to dry. If the formwork is not used for several days, then only a further coat of k-5 shut release may be applied. Drying time : it is essential that the k-5 shut release coating is thoroughly dried before placing the concrete otherwise, being an emulsion, its performance may be impaired. In conditions of high humidity drying times will be much longer than in warm dry conditions. Rainfall : it is necessary to protect freshly coated formwork from rain which may dilute the emulsion before it was dried. After drying the coating, it will withstand an occasional light shower but may be affected by heavy or continuous rain. In such cases, a further coat is advised once surface is dried out thoroughly. de-moulding : de-moulding can be carried out in the normal way and no special precautions are necessary. Concrete Shuttering![]() Concrete Shuttering K-5 SHUTRELEASE RU is a specially formulated blend of mineral oils and chemicals having release properties, which are superior to those of conventional mould oil. The chemical react with the alkali in the concrete to form a thin water repellent skin on the surface of the mould, thereby enabling easy stripping from concrete and protects steel and wooden formwork. K-5 SHUTRELEASE RU is supplied as a pale straw coloured, ready to use liquid. It reacts with the alkalis and water at the interface of the concrete and formwork to produce a thin film of lime soap, which breaks the bond enabling the formwork to be readily stripped. Excellent “off form” finish- produces a clear reproduction of formwork texture and sharp concrete feature. USES:
PROPERTIES: SPECIFIC GRAVITY: 0.83 ± 0.2 at 30OC, SERVICE TEMPERATURE: Suitable for use with steam cured concrete. FORMWORK SURFACES: Equally effective on wood or metal moulds and shutters. NON-STAINING: Does not stain concrete and can be used safely with white cement to ensure good finish. ADVANTAGES:
Surface Finishing Treatment![]() K CURE WTC is a solvent free, membrane forming white pigmented concrete compound, suitable for spray application to freshly poured concrete. The resultant film retains sufficient moisture in the concrete Conforming to ASTM C- 309 USES:
ADVANTAGES:
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: KCURE WTC should be applied 5 to 6m2 / 1 litre of surface area. A single spray-applied coat is sufficient. Ensure that all spraying equipments is cleaned thoroughly with white spirit immediately after use. For horizontal surfaces spray on KCURE WTC as soon as any excess water has dried off. This is usually within 30 minutes of finishing. Vertical surfaces should be wetted with water after stripping the KCURE WTC should not be applied to dry or semi-dry concrete. After application of the KCURE WTC membrane, the surface should be left undisturbed for at least 5 hours. Standard precautions should be taken during cold weather to protect the concrete from frost damage. PACKING & COVERAGE: KCURE WTC is supplied in 1 ltr, 5 ltr., 50 ltr., 100 ltr., and 200 ltr. Coverage 5 to 6 m2 per litre. SHELF LIFE: 12 months storage life when stored in original unopened container at between 5 ºC to 45 ºC in a dry and shaded place. HEALTH & SAFETY: KCURE WTC is non-hazardous. It should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin or eyes. Suitable protective goggles and gloves should be worn. In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately, do not induce vomiting. Surface Treatment Spray![]() Surface Treatment Spray KCURE is a non-degrading, resin based suitable for spray application to freshly poured concrete. KCURE is available as an aluminum colored liquid. Conforming to ASTM C- 309 Type – A. USES:
ADVANTAGES:
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: KCURE should be applied 5 to 6m2 / 1 litre of surface area. A single spray-applied coat is sufficient. Ensure that all spraying equipments is cleaned thoroughly with white spirit immediately after use. For horizontal surfaces spray on KCURE as soon as any excess water has dried off. This is usually within 30 minutes of finishing. Vertical surfaces should be wetted with water after stripping the KCURE should not be applied to dry or semi-dry concrete. After application of the KCURE membrane, the surface should be left undisturbed for at least 3 hours. Standard precautions should be taken during cold weather to protect the concrete from frost damage. PROPERTIES FAIRCURE RA is a solution of special resins, formulated for application to freshly-placed concrete. It dries to form an elastic impervious film on the surface, which ensures that the concrete keeps as moist as possible during the vital curing period. The film gradually disintegrates on weathering. KCURE is available in standard grades. It provides a curing membrane of a pale amber colour having a curing efficiency of 75%. KCURE can be supplied pigmented white; or aluminised. PACKING & COVERAGE: KCURE is supplied in 1 ltr, 5 ltr., 50 ltr., 100 ltr., and 200 ltr. Coverage 5 to 6 m2 per litre.
