K CRETE KRT![]() K CRETE KRT is based on processed lignosulphonates and can be used with all types of Portland cements. K CRETE KRT acts as both a set-retarder and as a plasticiser. When added to concrete mixes the admixture is absorbed onto the cement particles. It then acts as a dispersing agent which breaks down agglomerates of cement particles and enables the water in the mix to perform more efficiently. It delays the initial hydration of the cement which results in retardation of the setting time. As a retarder, it can be used to extend setting time in high ambient temperatures, where mass concreting is involved such as foundations, water retaining structures, silos, piles and slip from structures where long delays or interruption can lead to problems or where cold joints have to be avoided. As a plasticiser, it can be used to increase workability without addition of water or obtain increased strength by reducing water content for a given workability. Cement reduction upto 10% is possible for a given workability and strength. The high workability is useful for difficult pours or where problem of congestion reinforcement exists. Hardening: At higher temperature concrete hardens more rapidly and may impose problems with placing and finishing of concrete. By varying dosage of K CRETE KRT, concrete with a more desirable rate of hardening characteristic can be obtained. BENEFITS
PRODUCT K CRETE KRT is a retarding water reducing admixture conforming to IS-9103-99 BS-5075 Part-I :IS 9103 : 1999, ASTM C-494:71 type D. Retard the setting time of concrete and to reduce water requirement for a specified workability. DOSAGE & PACKING 100 ml to 500 ml per 50 Kg cement may be used for a retardation of 1 to 4 hours. The minimum dosage is best determined by site trials. K CRETE KRT should be used along with the mixing water to ensure uniform dispersion. The optimum dosage is best determined by site trails. As a guide dosage 150 ml to 500 ml per 50 Kg cement may be used for retardation between 1 to 4 hours. 5, 20, 50, 100, 200 litre carboys OVER DOSING Over dosing by accident can lead to high retardation levels leading to slight loss of strength. However it has no deleterious effect on concrete. SHELF LIFE One year minimum, if stored in original sealed containers under shed upto 50OC. HEALTH & SAFETY K CRETE KRT is non toxic. Any splashes on the skin should be washed with water. If contact with eye occurs, wash well and seek for medical advice. (4) SAND ZONE TECHNICAL SERVICES While new advances and changes will take place one thing will never change is quality and meeting special needs of customer. We are eager to work with you in development of new K Crete Ae![]() Description:
K Crete Ae acts as the interface of the cement-aggregate particles and mixing water to produce microscopic air bubbles evenly distributed throughout the concrete. The entrained air bubbles are of the optimum Diameter and spacing to give durability under free-thaw or salt attack conditions whilst enhancing lubrication during placing.
K Crete Ae complies with IS-9103-1999, Increased durability. Improved workability, increase compaction whilst the controlled air entrainment considerably enhances resistance to attack by frost or salts by reduction of Initial surface absorption of hardened concrete.
Increase the resistance of concrete to damage by sea water, frost and de-icing salts and also makes concrete structures less prone to cracking. Reduces the permeability of low cement content for mass pours such as dams and breakwaters.
Is an ideal pumping aid to maintain cohesiveness and minimize segregation where concrete is placed mechanically. Improves the quality and long term durability of concrete exposed to severe weathering conditions.
Advantages: > Increases workability and cohesion
> Increased cohesion : Entrained micro-bubbles of air assist in producing cohesion.
Improves workability, increases compaction whilst the controlled air entrainment considerably enhances resistance to attack by frost or salts by reduction of initial surface absorption.
> Chloride free -safe in prestressed and reinforced concrete.
Application Instructions:
Where K Crete Ae is used in an existing mix design, the cement and aggregate proportions should be adjusted to take into account the increase in yield. The sand content can normally be reduced by about 20 kg/m for each additional 1% of air entrained.
Dosage: The optimum dosage is best determined by site trials with the actual concrete mix which enables the effect of workability and air content to be measured. The rate of addition is generally within the range 100 ml to 300 ml K Crete Ae per 50 kg. cement according to the air content required. A dosage of 150 ml to 50 kg cement is normally sufficient to obtain 5%air entrainment.

Shelf Life:
12 months storage life when stored in original unopened container at between 5 *C to 45 *C in a dry and shaded place.
Health & Safety:
K Crete Ae is non-hazardous. It should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin or eyes. Suitable protective goggles and gloves should be worn. In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately, do not Induce vomiting.
