Kumar Motors has in-house R&D Department recognised by the Ministry of Science, India.

Kumar Motors has recently dedicated an annual R&D spend of close to 70%. The R&D team focuses on the development of new products and technologies that include interior and exterior design changes, development of new generation commercial vehicles, engines and alternate fuel systems, concept vehicles and advanced passenger safety and comfort systems, in line with evolving customer preferences across the globe.

Some of the ongoing projects that the Kumar R&D team is involved in include the development of the 'LPG/CNG vehicles, four wheeler mini truckers, fuel efficient engines'.

That the efforts of the Kumar R&D team has paid great much to the company is evident from the fact that the company's newly engineered products like the Agni - Goods Carrier and Parinda - Passenger Carrier have made waves in the Indian automotive markets and the 'Consumer Reports' has ranked Kumar Brands in level with that of other popular vehicles in its recent quality rankings.
