The Laxman Centreless Grinders models L.M 1 LM. 2 and L.M. 3 have been designed with the operator in mind. These are suitable for grinding work piece from 2 M M to 75 MM diameters to a very fine limits of accuracy. BASE
The base is made of close-grained cast iron and is well ribbed. It is made particularly heavy to prevent vibration and distortion the guide way-one side flat and the other V type are precision hand scrapped to match the corresponding surfaces of the table slides. Longitudinal hand travel of the table is by rack and pinion arrangement and automatic travel by hydraulic. The change over from manual lubrication of the longitudinal and cross slide way, two oil pockets and groves are provided, one at each end.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
This consists of a general pump, oil tank, piping, etc. All conveniently housed in the base. The hydraulic is made of graded cast iron and is honed.

WHEELHEAD
The rigid wheel head spindle is made of EN24 or 353 steel hardened and ground. It runs is adjustable type bush bearing. The drive to the wheel head transverse is cross direction is on precision hard scraped ‘v’ and flat guide way. He spindle is tapered (5??) at the front to receive the wheel flange. Oil hole are provided for lubrication of the bearing surfaces.

WORK HEAD
The work head spindle is made of nickel chrome steel EN-24 or 353 hardened & ground. Run is gun metal bush bearing or in angular contact bearing. The drive to the work head spindle, which has MT-3 by step ‘V’ pulley. The speed obtained through this pulley can be reduced by another bigger size pulley provided in the work head housing. He work head is built for grinding operation both with stationary center and revolving spindle. Oil cups are provided for lubrication.

INTERNAL GRINDING ATTACHMENT
The spindle of the internal grinding attachment which is suitable for grinding cylindrical and tapered is made of En-31 and is ground. It runs in preloaded magneto ball bearings-two in the front and two is the rear. The drive to the spindle is independent motor through endless nylon flat belt. The hinged type internal grinding attachment is conveniently located on the wheel head so the is can be easily swing into position.

A VERSATILE MACHINE
The wide range of material commonly used can be cut by employing its slow speed for hard steels, medium speed For structural and machine steels and high speed for cutting thinner and softer materials like brass and aluminum at faster rates.

WITH SMOOTHER CUTTING ACTION.
The entire saw frame can be easily raised by hand, locked a ay required height (depending on the size of the job) by means of lever near the material-holding vise handle. When the lever is released, the saw frame and the revolving saw blade come sown smoothly on the metal. This smooth action is achieved hydraulically by controlling the flow of oil passing through a cylinder. The arrangement effectively eliminates any possible damage to the teeth of the saw, or breakage of blade due to a sudden drop.

EFFICIENT CLAMPING –AND A SWIVEL VICE,
The two vice-jaws are both fixed on a single long screw, half of on a single long screw, half of which has left hand thread and other half has right hand threads. Thus turning of the screw by means of the long handle provided brings he jaws together vice as fast as when one jaw is fixed to the machine body. A bar stop (which may be swung away when not required) is useful as a built-in gauge for cutting off a number of pieces of equal lengths. And using a swivel vice (which when ordered with the machine is supplied at no extra cost) material may be cut at any angle up to 45??, thus adding to the versatility of the machine.
Two easily adjustable arms with carbide tipped guides at their ends can be locked close to the jaws, keep the saw blade aligned on the job for an accurate, smooth and controlled vertical cut with a minimum of wear on the blade.

IT USE A WORM GEAR DRIVE.
The machine is driven by a robust motor using a belt a step cone –pulley arrangement to give the tree cutting speeds .A case-hardened worm, mounted on the same shaft as the driven cone-pulley, actuate a worm wheel (both run in an oil bath to reduce wear to minimum) thus reducing the speed of the driving saw pulley mounted over latter. An endless saw blade passes over this pulley and the driven saw pulley is easily tightened in front of the frame. The same nut is loosened for removing the blade, which is a simple and quick operation.
