1. The cardamoms shall be the dried capsules of Elletaria Cardamom grown in South India . Capsules being three-cornered and having a ribbed appearance. 2. The capsules shall be free from insect infestation and visible mould. 3. Thrip marks alone on the capsules shall not lead to the conclusion that the capsules have been infested with insects.

Shall be decorticated and dry seeds of any variety of Elettaria Cardamom. 2) The seeds shall be free from visible mould and insect infestation.

1. The cardamom shall be the fully developed dried capsules of Elletaria Cardamom, bleached and/or half-bleached by sulphurizing, colour ranging from Pale cream to white, @global or three cornered, with skin ribbed or smooth. 2. The capsules shall be free from insect infestation and visible mould.

1. The Turmeric fingers shall be secondary rhizomes of the plant Curcuma longa L. 2. (a) They shall be well set and closely grained and by free from bulbs (primary rhizomes) and ill-developed porous fingers. (b) Have the shape, length wrinkles colour and other characteristics of the variety. (c) Be perfectly dry and free from damage caused by weevils, moisture over-boiling or fungus attack except that 1.0 percent and 2.0 percent by weight of rhizomes damaged by moisture and over boiling shall be allowed in grades Good and Fair respectively.

Black pepper ground shall be the material obtained by grinding black pepper whole. # It shall be free from admixture, from mould growth, insect infestation or musty odour. # It shall be free from coarse particles and ground to such a fineness that the whole of it passes through # a 500 micron sieve
