This Instrument is a part of Lensel Optics range of Illuminated Magnifiers and is specially designed for testing purity of seed samples with maximum efficiency.  It is used to distinguish discolored, damaged and chalky grains / seeds; checking cracks in seeds; observing fungus, bunt, ergot etc. examining insects & insect damage in seeds & leaves; checking physical quality of oil seeds; examining normal/abnormal sprouts and similar activities. 1) Magnification: A Dia 130mm, clear, highly corrected precision glass lens provides a 4 times area magnification and a distortion free and chromatic aberration free perfect strain-free vision over the entire field.The Lens provides bi-ocular vision with depth perception and comfortable 250 mm working distance underneath, thus providing ease in examining the seeds over extended hours. 2) Illumination: A22 watt Circular Fluorescent Tube housed in tough polymer shed around the lens provides light that is shadow less, glare free, cool and of daylight color, thus providing perfect illumination for all operations under the lens. A special reflector enhances the illumination level. A specially designed Transmitted Light Box with a lighted (250 X250 mm) opal stage is provided for testing of Seed Health.  This gives illumination from below using 14 W  Compact Fluorescent Light mounted inside the box, and is also found useful in checking Kernel Bunt in Wheat, Paddy Bunt in Rice, Ergot in Bajra, Black grains in  Jowar, etc. 3) Seed Collection Bins: The unit has three different seeds collection chambers.  These can be used for separate collection of Pure seeds.  Weeds, Seeds with fungus, Inert matter or other (foreign) seeds. Nominal Seed Collection chamber capacities are as follows: Pure seeds chamber :  2000cc Second chamber        :  600cc Third chamber           :  600cc

4) Special Features:

The lens light hood is mounted on a smooth, universally adjustable stand that enables the lens to be held at the most comfortable viewing position for each individual user.A ‘swing in/swing out’ high power glass lens of dia 55 mm gives 10X area magnification in combination with main 130 mm dia lens.  This lens is useful for study of particular areas of interest under high magnification.  It can be moved in and out of the main field of view with feather touch movement.  It is found particularly useful for examining very small seeds such as flower seeds, vegetable seeds, Mustard seeds,   Finger Mille etc.   An platform of large size is provided to handle substantial quantity of seeds at a time – from which to push smaller batches for inspection under    lens and light.Fluorescent lights provide bright and yet cool illumination which adds to user   comfort and protects the samples being tested from thermal effects. The lamps have a long life and are easily replaceable.
