Hi-Life is a revolutionary product being introduced for the first time in India. It has been completely designed, developed and manufactured indigenously. It is an equipment for increasing the life of cutting tools. The development of Hi-Life has taken over a year and a half of stringent and very successful tests and trials. We believe that Hi-Life would prove to be indispensable in every machine shop. A life increase of a minimum of 30% upto 300% or even more has been consistently observed.
Why Hi-Life ?
Productivity can be defined as the maximum production in the minimum time & cost. Productivity is directly linked to manufacturing cost. With the economy opening up, it has become imperative for organisations to reduce its manufacturing cost thereby improving productivity to remain competitive.
One of the major cost elements in machining operations is the cost of the tool. Any improvement in the tool life will mean lower tooling costs directly improving productivity. That is precisely what this instrument is meant to do.
Major Reason For Cutting Tool Failure
Residual stresses, which are highly concentrated near the cutting edge of the tools are the major reason for failures in cutting tools like chipping cracking, fracturing and increased blunting. Residual stresses are generated in substantial quantities during various processes acting on the tools including turning of tools blanks, heat treatment, final grinding, actual process of cutting and especially during regrinding. Processes like Tin Coating also induce temperature related residual stresses.
All the above processes lead to distortion of the crystalline structure and generation of residual stresses. The distorted microstructure consists of minute defects where tiny cracks are initiated. They are nothing but the surface cracks in their infancy. As more & more stresses generate, the cracks increase in size thus ending tool life.
THE PRINCIPLE OF HI-LIFEHi-Life works on electromagnetic principles. Specifically generated electromagnetic waves using high frequency switching power source penetrate the tools placed in the tool chamber causing molecular vibrations.
1) The molecular vibrations on the skin of the tool are more than the vibrations at the core. This results in an unequilibrium state which leads to the generation of powerful shear forces.
2) Also, the molecules in the distorted microstructure get aligned to the magnetic field.
TESTS & TRIALSOver the past one and a half years, stringent tests and trials have been carried out on Hi-Life. Hi-Life has been taken to the premises of the most prominent Indian Engineering conglomerates and trials have been carried out right there. The companies include Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Auto, Indian Tools, Crompton Greaves, Bharat Forge, Godrej & Boyce, Mahindra Sona, Ammunition Factory etc.
The amazing consistency of the results are present with us in the form of actual reports prepared by these reputed companies. They prove beyond any doubt the theoretical principles on which Hi-Life is based.
