Procurement process

We pay our utmost attention in our procurement process right from the team of farmers to the location of our farms. The training of our farmers is very important to yield the maximum output and proper guidance equip them with the advanced technology.

Farmers

We have dedicated and committed farmers who own 10 to 500 acres of land and produce fruits and vegetables of excellent quality and tied up with them for our requirements. We follow high nourishment and sophisticated technology in producing qualitative fruits and vegetables.

In maintaining the quality standards, we work in close collaboration with our concerted farmers to specifically monitor them in their farming methods right from the seedling stage to the harvesting stage.

To enhance the productivity level of our farmers, we train them with latest framing methods and grant them extensive support. The specific areas in which they are trained are as follows:

• Pest and disease control programs
• Maturity indices for uniform production quality
• Good farm management and various others.

Locations

We nurture a wide variety of fruits and vegetables in our farms with the help of our concerted farmers. For the cultivation of our highly demanded mangoes, we have AEZ zone and more than 1.9 lakh tones of different varieties of mangoes are available here. Also, many special fruits are grown such as potato, carrot, Lady’s Fingers, Drumsticks and so on.

The exclusive variety of pineapple will be specially sourced from farms in Kolli Hills, Sirumalai and from Idukki district. Culinary spices are sourced from the verdant AEZ zone near the Kodai hills. We have a full-fledge R&D Center which has established with the support of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore.

The wide spectrum of our range are duly processed and packaged to international standards at our plant with imported automatic equipments, then transported to different parts of the globe.

Process

There are lot attentions we pay in proper care of our range of fruits and vegetables. We lay our kind consideration right from the seedling to the harvesting stage. There are following stages where we pay our due attention such as:

• Picking
• Sorting
• Grading
• Washing
• Packaging

These are discussed in detail and it is given below:

Picking

Our vast farms produce a wide range of fruits and vegetables in qualitative amount. These are carefully hand-picked by trained pickers and stored in hygienic plastic containers for transportation. These are handled with great care to ensure them with freshness and without blemish. They are transported to our factory in specially refrigerated trucks to retain their freshness.

Sorting

The freshly picked fruits and vegetables are brought to our state-of the-art factory. The factory has all facilities for storage and processing under temperature controlled conditions. The produce is sorted here to remove any broken, blemished or damaged ones. This ensures that only those of the superior quality are selected. The entire process is carried out under hygienic conditions.

Grading

Grading is done to maintain uniformity in weight and quality. Fruits and vegetables are graded using the latest grading equipment and this is based on color, texture, size and weight. Uniformity in weight is focused on with an allowance of just 5gm difference this way or that. The Grading Stage is carried out in specially cooled rooms where the temperature and level of gas concentration is microprocessor controlled. Quality is ensured through international quality management; food safety system and Good Agricultural practices (GAP) besides meeting environmental standards.

Washing

All our wide range of fruits and vegetables are properly washed with a water spray and scrubbed gently with a brush to remove any remaining trace of dirt. They are then treated with hot water to remove bacteria. Fungicide and wax treatment are also carried out to increase the shelf life.

Packaging

Packaging is extremely important to preserve the freshness and lock in the nutrients. This is done at our state-of-the-art plant under hygienic conditions after the produce passes all the quality checks. We pack these into corrugated food grade cartons and seal them for bulk consumption or pack them in food grade plastic for retail markets. These are extremely sturdy and can withstand the rigors of the long journey till they reach the end user.
