About Us

Madras elastomers limited (mel) was established in 1981 to produce mixed rubber compound. Mel installed two ban burry mixers to mix 3000 mts of rubber compound per month. Over the years mel diversified into military tank wheels and became the first and only source in india to rubberize vijayanta, t-55, bmp, mbt arjuna and russian t-72 tank wheels. Mel has a strong track record of supplying large numbers and high quality tank wheels, which provides much longer life than most of its competitors like mrf, dunlop and tvs to indian defense forces. The sumo group of companies operates companies manufacturing solid tyres and rubber to metal bonding components in north and south india. We cater to the indian railways, indian defense forces and logistics industry in india and worldwide. Among our companies are: avadh rubber ltd. In lucknow and madras elastomers ltd.
