About Us

mageba is an international service provider and manufacturer of bridge bearings, expansion joints and other products for the construction industry. A recent focus of activities has been the provision of structure surveillance services (remote monitoring, inspections), in which mageba now plays a leading role throughout the world.

The Swiss enterprise was founded in 1963 and has its head office and production facilites in Bülach, Switzerland.

There are further production facilities in Fussach (Austria), Shanghai (China), Kolkata (India) and offices in Uslar and Stuttgart (Germany) and Cugy (Switzerland). In all, mageba has official representations in 45 countries worldwide.

In addition to being the owner of a large number of other patents for bridge bearings and shock absorbers, mageba has gained a reputation as the inventor of the modern modular expansion joint.

There are now thousands of bridges worldwide which are fitted with bearings and expansion joints supplied by mageba.

The outstanding characteristic of mageba's products is their durability. They can be relied upon to function perfectly for decades under extremely demanding conditions.

mageba has been ISO 9001 certified since 1991.

Complete competence in technical matters together with consistent quality management and a high investment budget for research and development – in cooperation with well known universities – represent the basis of mageba’s success.

mageba's international reputation is founded on its involvement in a large number of major projects such as the Øresund Bridge, which has linked Denmark and Sweden since 2000, or the Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong which was erected in 1995 to serve the new airport.

mageba participates in a number of industry associations, commissions and expert groups. In particular, the company has contributed a great deal of basic support towards standardisation (CEN, EOTA) over the past 20 years, providing benefits for the whole sector.

Competent technicians and engineers provide comprehensive customer support throughout the world.

In 2003, the BAMECO company was integrated into the mageba group, followed by the C division of the Proceq company in 2004. This allowed for a further optimisation of the product range and improvements in customer service.

Today, mageba is one of the world's leading bridge parts suppliers, producing over 10,000 bridge bearings and 30,000m of expansion joint every year.
