Operating Principle
The LC oscillator circuit generates the electromagnetic field over the active face, energy is drawn from oscillator resulting damping of the oscillator. This change is detected by the electronic circuit to give output signal.

Solid State relay is a static electronic switch unlike in an electromechanical relay where switching takes place between two moving contacts, switching in SSR takes place across the junction of semiconductor device. Devices are Triac or Thyristor for AC switching & Transistor for DC switching.

 

In most SSRs galvanic separation is achieved by Optocouplers equipped with integrated trigger circuit. (optoriac) provide the switching function required for the corresponding load type.
