The lug style valves are installed between two flanges but with a separate set of bolts for each flange. It facilitates in removing one side of the piping while the other remains intact. Moreover, the wafer style butterfly valves are more common and are typically installed between two flanges using bolts or studs and nuts.

Similar in operation to a ball valve, our butterfly valves consists of a flat circular plate positioned in the center of the pipe. These plates have a rod connected to a handle on the outside of the valve and are very sturdy and robust and offered in reliable designs. The handle turns the plate either parallel or perpendicular to the flow of water, shutting off the flow on rotation and induces a pressure drop in the flow.
