The company was incorporated in 1990 obtained a one time technical know-how from M/s Makino Chemical Company, Japan in the field of Friction material products. It was one of the first few Indian companies to produce Specialized Friction products to meet the requirements of Original Equipment manufacturers in India.

Today MAKINO is a trusted name with both the OEM, Aftermarket in Worldwide. The Company has Two Manufacturing plants in Noida and Sahibabad located in Uttar Pardesh.

Research and Development is the corner stone of MAKINO’s philosophy. Investment in R&D both in terms of manpower and equipment is a continuous process.

R&D is limited not only to product innovation. At MAKINO R&D extends to the shop-floor. New technologies are constantly inducted into the manufacturing process. This increases the efficiency of production and at the same time gives the customers a better product.

A case in point is the CVT production, a transmission used in innovative urban vehicles such as Scooters. The Production line is the result of in house R&D. The latest automation and electronic equipment have been integrated to achieve a high production rate while adhering to strict quality standards.

The R&D center conducts tests as per Japanese Standards (JASO), British Standards (BSAU), SAE and Indian Standards (IS).
