Countor Rotating Agitator

These Versatile units with counter-rotating efficiency, are designed for processing application where a combination of gentle blending and folding is needed along with thorough mixing. Heavy and viscous products are both lifted from the bottom and pulled down from the top at the same time and because of the design, dead zones are eliminated.

A fully enclosed and sealed drive prevents products contamination, bushing is easily removed and cleaned. Provision for heating/cooling jackets, vacuum/pressure capability.


 
 

Emulsification System

Oil in Water or Water in Oil Emulsion can be easily achieved in a compact system if it is properly designed. Here there are two key design aspects. One when the phases are brought in contact and second when the drop size has to be reduced so that the expected emulsion stability is achieved.

Emulsification may be effected in two ways by using smartly designed Static Mixers (in some case even the use of Cavitational Flow Fields), or with the help of proper High Shear/Speed Impellers.

Emulsification System is designed with the combination of these Mixers; one of them may be used as a Distributor, and one may be for making droplets still smaller (this is often called Refiner).

Depending upon the Process Conditions are physical properties of the phases and functionality of the Emulsifier, a system shall be designed.


 
 

Fruit Processing Plant


Mamko has developed a high intensity Fruit Pulper. It is small in size and works efficiently. Small Fruit processing plants are developed using such Pulper. Fruit processing Plant is designed as per the Customers requirement.


 
 

Heat Exchanger


Insertion of Static Elements can enhance Heat Transfer Coefficient of Shell and Tube Exchanger by factor of 2 to 10 depending on Fluid properties and flow conditions. These are easy to operate and easy to clean as compared to Plate Heat Exchanger and therefore extremely useful in scaling liquid.

The insertion as noted above only increases the convention heat transfer. However there are Static Elements that can also provide extra Heat Transfer service by allowing Heat Transfer medium to flow through the Elements. These are very convenient Heat Transfer devices for high viscosity Liquid.


 
 

Herbal Oil Plant

The best method to make Herbal Oil is by using the Process practiced in Ayurveda. It is modernized and narrated below. Equipment needed are a Pot Extraction and a press (a Squeezer). The size may be chosen as per the requirement.


 
 

High Intensity Blender

These Blender mixer are specifically designed for intensive mixing. These are particularly useful when the scale of scrutiny that is scale at which the mixing is required is very small compared to the batch size; and also when there are several (more than 3) powders to be mixed and some of the ingredient are very small in quantity. These mixers are also useful when a liquid (a dye or an active compound) has to be mixed in small quantities.

MAMKO have supplied such mixers for various applications for the manufacturers of Soft Drink to Detergent. They are available in all types of Stainless Steels and Carbon Steels. All accessories including feeding, outlet valves, jackets, seals, vacuum applications are also available.


 
 

Hydrocyclone

Hydrocyclone is the most attractive device for removing solid particles from liquid . It utilizes the centrifugal force to effect the separation. The separation of solid from liquid depends on the particle size and particle density. Centrifugal force throws the particles out against the wall and they subsequently drop into the outlet hopper. Cyclone consists of vertical cylinder with conical bottom. The inlet point is near the top of the cylindrical portion. The particles separated are collected at the bottom. Hydrocyclone can be used to collect the particles in the range of 5 to 20 micron.

Hydrocyclone is cost effective because of simplicity in fabrication, requires minimum or no maintenance as there are no moving parts. The success of Hydrocyclone is in its design. MAMKO with their thorough knowledge of physical technology have a unique method of designing the cyclone dimensions. The design procedure takes into account particle density, size, shape and also Rheology of the slurry.


 
 

Inline Flocculator


Mamko have developed Inline Flocculators for flocculating and agglomerating particles. They are used post Mixers where flocculating Agents are mixed with the stream of the liquid carrying the particles. A specially created flow field achieves fast for flocculation. Thus this results in small residence time. Therefore the size of the Flocculation is substantially smaller than the conventional Flocculators.

For separation of Emulsified Liquids such as Oil from Water, from O/W Emulsion and Water from Oil from W/O Emulsion, Coalescers are used. Mamko have developed Inline Coalescer for this purpose. They form integrated part of their Oil/Water Separators and Water/Oil Separators.


 
 

Inline Static Mixer

When the MIXING BLADE is not rotating it is a Static Mixer. Static mixing is achieved by placing a series of well-designed obstructions (mixing elements) in a flowing stream.

It is a special skill to design Static Mixers for a given job such as mixing, blending, gas - liquid contacting, viscous reaction, heat transfer, mass transfer, dispersion, emulsification, extraction and all those operations where usually agitation is employed.

Jet Mixers

In the JET AGE of today, JETS should find their uses in several places and MIXING which is basically outcome of fluid flow is no exception. Wherever possible JET Mixers are utilized in the process industry. JET Mixers are simple and require close to zero maintenance. This JET MIXING SYSTEMS rely on the pumping energy and therefore viscosity of the liquid with respect to the available pressure is the only limitation.

JETS have almost thrown SIDE ENTRY AGITATOR out of use. JET MIXER is design specific. The JET is designed to create appropriate velocities. It is then placed in the tank at a right position and with a correct angle so that appropriate swirl and vortex is created for the bulk mixing. In many situations more than one JETS are required.

JETS with Eductors and with or without Static Mixers have been effectively used in several gas liquid applications. Especially when the viscosities are moderate or low such aerators are useful. They are maintenance free as well.

The Eductor principle, whereby high velocity of one fluid creates suction and attracts the second liquid towards itself to effect micromixing, is combined here with the JET mixing concept ,which is essentially bulk mixing .Thus we have the EDUCTOR JETS.


 
 

Line Mixing Ejectors


For some Application of Mixing of Gases, Gas-Liquid, Liquid-Liquid and Liquid Slurries where one of the streams has substantial pressure and the other streams has little or no pressure head, the mixing can easily be achieved by Line Mixing Ejectors/Eductors (LME’s). A typical example is given in the below figure.

At MAMKO, LME’s are designed to suit your requirement. The selection of sizes is done with respect to your Flow rates and the Fluid properties.


 
 

Liquid/Liquid Extraction


Here intensity in Extraction is achieved where the contact area between the phases is increased and convective mass transfer is enhanced. The smaller the droplet size, large is the contact area per unit volume. However, the smaller droplets may create another problem of separation. That is the emulsion shall be so stable that it will not separate. A proper balance is the skill of the designer.

Extraction here is achieved in properly designed "Static Mixers". This operation is followed by any Equipment to give extra residence time (if required) and then a "Hydrocyclone" where the phases are separated. Two such systems are developed, designed and supplied by Mamko are shown in the attached flow diagram.


 
 

Medium & Small Plants For Rural Industries

Mamko has supplied several specialty Plants for small scale industry especially useful in the rural area. They have specialized in the field of Herbal, Fruit and Milk Processing.

Further water storage is also a problem in rural areas. Water-reuse over and over again is a requirement of many. With this in mind a Water-reuse plant is developed. They also offer plants for bio gas and water reuse.


 
 

Milk Processing Plant


Mamko offers small Milk Processing Plants. These are useful where Milk Production is between 10 to 40 kL per shift. Milk Processing in small dairies is required twice a day; once in the Morning and once in the Evening. The processing is done for about 2 hrs.

The small Milk Processing Plant here are of capacities between 5 to 20 kL/hr. Here Milk is pasteurized by heating up to 80 – 85 Deg.C. and then cooled to 4 to 5 deg.C before packing in Polythene bags.

Heating is done by hot water circulation and cooling by chilled water of about 0 – 1 deg.C vide an Ice Bank. Ice Bank is operated throughout the day. Because of the use of Ice Bank, the Refrigeration requirement is reduced quite substantially and also the costs are reduced.


 
 

Mixing Valve

Mamko has introduced a Mixing valve, manufactured in different Material of Construction. Ideally suited for compact Inline Mixing of two streams, this valve needs to be fitted in the major flow line with a side entry of the minor flow it controls the output composition. Mixing Valve is ideally suited to mix hot and cold water and readily miscible low viscosity liquids, thus providing several possibilities of capital costs reduction. Mixing valves are extensively used in situations where output concentrations are required to be regulated and maintained accordingly.

Mamko has introduced a Mixing ‘T’, manufactured in different Material of Construction. It is ideally suited for Inline Mixing of low viscosity liquid at a definite ratio. It needs to be fitted in the major flow Line with a side entry of the minor flow.


 
 

Patterson Blender

These are perhaps the most efficient Ribbon blenders. Extremely useful for highly viscous pastes to achieve high degree of homogeneity. They are useful when shear sensitive materials are to be gently but thoroughly mixed. Patterson Ribbon Mixers are manufactured for fast and thorough blending. Their applications include from cosmetic creams to explosive pastes.

Patterson Ribbon Blenders are available in all types of Stainless Steels and Carbon Steels. All accessories including feeding, outlet valves, jackets, seals, vacuum applications are also available.


 
 

Plough Shear Mixer


These Mixers are extremely useful against aggregating type of solid powders. Brittle particles are also disintegrated here. They are useful when liquids are to be sprayed on to powder. Essentially they consist of Plough rotating at high speed and High Shear cutters. They are highly power consuming, but extremely useful.

They have been part of several agrochemical formulation processes in Europe and U.S. Mamko have also supplied such applications in India. Also they have been used for dissolutions of solids to manufacture thick homogeneous pastes. They are available in all types of Stainless Steels and Carbon Steels. All accessories including feeding, outlet valves, jackets, seals, vacuum applications are also available.

Reactor System

Molecular Level contact is essential in a reaction. This is achieved by mass transfer and mixing. When we intensify these operation the residence time in the reactor can be substantially reduced. The reaction are, however, highly exothermic. The efficient heat transfer is therefore required. The Heat Exchanger is therefore kept in a loop with a high recirculation rate. Mamko has taken up and resolved many such reaction situation. A typical example on Sulphonation Reaction System is depicted in the pictures below.

Specialty Heat Exchanger

Heat Exchanger is a common but essential operation in Process Industry. Again here Mamko have entered into a specialized Design.

One Design, that is specifically designed for Rheological complex viscous Liquids, and another one, which is very useful for low viscosity liquids, are offered by Mamko. Both cases the Heat Transfer Co-efficient are much higher than the conventional Heat Exchanger. The details are given under each Product Title.


 
 

Spiral Solid Separator

The Slurry (content 10 - 40percent Solids depending on application) is fed into the Spiral from the top. Spread on the spiral bottom, it moves down by gravity. A transverse flow which is directed inwards on the sluice bottom or outside on the slurry surface is superimposed on the main flow.

This combination results in a separation of the particles contained in the suspension, depending on their density. Particles with a lower specific gravity, such as wood, coal or organic matter, are concentrated in the outer areas of the flow. Particles with a higher specific gravity are transported towards the spiral axits. Two adjustable splitters on the end of the spiral enable the extraction of three fractons heavy, middlings and light density products.


 
 

Tank Mixing Eductor

APPLICATION

Tank Mixing Eductors are used to agitate or mix Liquids stored in tanks, pits, or sumps. They are Static Mixers that can be used to mix or blend different liquids together in a tank, or blend different liquids together in a tank, or simply maintain a homogeneous mixture in a tank. They can also be used to mix or dissolve powders into liquids or to keep solid particles in suspension. Tank Mixing Eductors can often replace motor-driven mechanical agitators and avoid the maintenance associated with mechanical devices.

The motive fluid can also be air or other gas to aerate or disperse gas into a liquid. When steam is the motive fluid, the TME becomes an effective heater.


 
 

Twin Shaft Continuous Blender

Blenders of these mixers are designed to get lateral as well as axial mixing. Further they push the material forward thus these mixers are used for continuous mixing. Mixing is very efficient and therefore the residence times are very short; between 1 to 10 min. They have been used for Solid/Solid mixing when the solids are in powder form. And also for dissolution of solid lumps in liquid for manufacture of slurry.

These mixing systems are available in all types of Stainless Steels and Carbon Steels. All accessories including feeding, outlet valves, jackets, seals, vacuum applications are also available.


 
 

Water Eductor

Water Eductors for Vacuum (WEV) use water as the motive medium. They are simple in construction, consisting of the suction housing or the head, the diffuser and the motive nozzle. They are safe in operation and maintenance free, whilst the capital outlay is low.

The operation of these WEV’s is based on the Liquid Jet from the motive nozzle emerging at a higher velocity, entraining air or gas in the suction housing and compressing it to atmospheric pressure.

WEV's with threaded connections are mainly used in Chemical Laboratories for the production of Vacuum, as for example in vacuum distillation or drying.

They are also used for evacuating siphon lines, suction lines of circulating pumps and condensers; for deaerating gas chambers; and for producing negative pressures in Nutsch filters.

WEV's, when water is used as the motive medium, it can be directly coupled to the water Line. (If, however, the water consumption has to be as economical as possible, the operating water is recycled. This is also so for all cases where other liquids are used as the motive medium).

They are useful for removing dirt on unwanted Water or other Liquids from pits or slumps. They are extremely used on Ships where Sea water may be used as motive liquid. It is available in plenty and therefore extremely useful.


 
 

Water Separator

These operate predominantly on the surface and spreading fine coalescers properties of Liquids. These devices use packings that are cleverly devised to promote Coalescence.

Mamko sometimes design their own packing but otherwise depend upon the packing available in the market.


 
 

Water-Reuse Plant

Considering the shortage water in Rural area and also in parts of the Urban area, Mamko have developed a Water-Reuse Plant. It is useful for the non-potable water.

Here water is filtered to remove dirt. It is then sanitized and deodorized to make it reusable.
