• The liquid is put in a parting box and moves into trough seither via orifices in the bottom or side of the parting box or via slots in the side of the box.
• And then liquid further flows along the trough and exits to the bed through “V”- Notches, Rectangular slots at the sides or through orifices at the bottom of the troughs.
• The notches permits high liquid turn down, due to the variable area available for flow at different liquid heads.

These headers are manufactured in accordance with extended pipes to generate continuous movement of liquid till the packings underneath. In addition to this, these are designed in 4 to 1 turn down ratio to provide spacious area for the movement of vapors. As compared to Orfice Pan Type distributer, these headers have negligible pressure drop. These headers are used in distillation in connection with Chimney Type Re-distributor to handle flashing liquid feeds and in Trough Type Distributors it is used as feed pipes.

These are preferred for tower diameters less than 900 mm handling clean liquids as well as for towers with 1500 mm diameter in case the pressure drop across the column is not critical. • Comprises Pan with orifices on its bed for liquid distribution
• Limited to a liquid turn down ratio of 4 to 1 (Turn Down Ratio: Ratio of Maximum Liquid Flow to Minimum Liquid Flow received by the distributor.)
• Sealed at the support ledge or positioned on flanges for small diameters (less than 500mm)
• Can also be sectioned to pass through a man-way in large diameters

Bed Limiters are especially designed to stop such expansion of bed owing to sudden growth in gas flow rates.
